I'd kind of thought I'd seen it all. And keep in mind, this guy is one of only two Republicans on the NYC City Council.

The city councilman who bungled his way into federal bribery charges is also a total bonehead in his kooky heathen religion — whose members wear medieval garb, make sacrifices to multiple gods and compete in combat games.

Dan Halloran (R-Queens) — who was arrested Tuesday as the suspected bag man in state Sen. Malcolm Smith’s alleged plot to buy his way onto the mayoral ticket — has been publicly flogged and lost a spear-throwing contest as part of his Theodish punishments.

Halloran converted in the 1980s from Catholicism to the pre-Christian Germanic religion, whose believers drink mead or whiskey from horns and dress like characters in a Renaissance fair.

He learned about their tough disciplinary code when he committed an undisclosed act against a female “thrall” — or probationary servant.
He was stripped to his waist, strapped to a tree and flogged with a belt 11 times.

 hahahaah, we got pics of him at, uhhhh.... church?

Yeah, well. I don't know why I'm laughing, since I just decided to move out of the country.

While I consider pagans and other occultists spiritually unclean and carriers of demonic spirits, I don't think it's right to make fun of them. Imagine driving a car previously test driven by an occultist and the brakes mysteriously fail. That being said, why belittle somebody just for the sake of it, unless it's for a pi$$in' match you signed up for? The flip side of that is that "pi$$in' matches" are kind of a sport and you might actually wind up being friends at some point with your fellow "sportsman".

Just some food for thought.

Well, there's a lot going on here. On top of his pagan practices he was just arrested for trying to sell the Republican line to a Democrat, which was followed up with a sexual relationship with a young campaign worker he funneled some campaign monies to.

Honestly, this looks more like some nerd game than any kind of legitimate religion.

Irrespective of how it looks: If you mess with the occult, you mess with demons. They come if you call them.

Like Satan did when Bart said he'd sell his soul for a Formula 1 race car...

Of course! That's how America got Obama. Votes do have consequences.

Wow, yeah, showed this to some of my pagan friends, and I swear they're frothing at the mouth, ready to take a go at him for this crap. As per my friend Bethany, "Do you have any god damned idea how hard it is to get taken freakin' seriously as a wiccan, without this dipshit and his buddies making it fucking worse?!" The swearing gets a little more profound, and less coherent, from that point in the conversation.

Put on your memory caps folks....

Who else remembers Moochelle's mom bringing a voodoo priestess into the White House shortly after they moved in way back in 2009?

Funny you should mention that taft. I was under the impression at that time...that the Voodoo Priestess WAS Moochelle. Not her mom.
