CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts police official say the brothers suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon before having shootouts with authorities didn't have gun permits.


Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert Haas tells The Associated Press in an interview Sunday that neither Tamerlan Tsarnaev (tsahr-NEYE'-ehv) nor his brother Dzhokhar had permission to carry firearms.


He says it's unclear whether either ever applied and the applications aren't considered public records.


But he says the 19-year-old Dzhokhar (joh-KHAR') would have been denied a permit because of his age. Only people 21 or older are allowed gun licenses in Massachusetts.


The suspects were also accused of hijacking a Mercedes on Thursday night.


Haas says the pair didn't release the driver, but he escaped when he was left alone while the two men entered a convenience store.

And the media is stating "it will further fuel demands for gun regulations..." - My first question would be then - did they have licenses for their at least one dozen bombs? THEY ARE TERRORISTS YOU EFFING IDIOTS!!! Sure, change the regulations, I'm sure terrorists will work harder to be "legal" in the future. Idiots.

Libs throw their hands up and say "Teens will have sex no matter what you do or say, so just deal with it". But they apparently cannot apply that "there's no stopping them" logic to criminals with guns. Apparently we can stop them with new gun laws. :rolleyes:

Thank you for telling it like it is. I never understood parents who simply said, they will just do it and one can't stop them. Not when you never lifted a finger and they are now teens. That is true but the time to lay down the law is much sooner. A better point has not been made. As to licenses for handguns, one should not use that excuse. I don't see why they force them to get licenses. If they had them, they still would have used guns to do the crimes. They used bombs with no license as poster 1 says, so why would they even bother with licenses?
