Richie Havens, the New York (http://topics.bloomberg.com/new-york/) City folk singer thrust by circumstance onto center stage as the opening act of Woodstock, the legendary 1969 music festival, has died. He was 72.
He died today of a heart attack at his home in Jersey City (http://topics.bloomberg.com/jersey-city/),New Jersey (http://topics.bloomberg.com/new-jersey/), according to Tim Drake, president of his booking agent, The Roots Agency of Westwood, New Jersey

I went to you tube today to see what Richie Havens was well known for. The first selection was Here Comes the Sun.

I love that song. But I don't favor his version. I favor the Beatles and Paul Simon versions.

I wish I knew more about Havens and what he was known for as his top song.

True. I think Paul is 70 now.

Kinda scary for me personally. Only 66 now, but I wonder more, every day. Thankful to wake up. Always concerned for my wife, our son's, and those five little people who make every day more rewarding.

It is sad to watch all of the people most of us have admired for so long, slipping away.
But then.
Sad to say. That's Life!
We're only here for a short time. Make the best of every day.
Hug your children, and tell them YOU LOVE THEM.
