The liberal media has a short memory when it comes non liberal groups being attacked by the IRS.

And the left - which claims to be a champion of civil rights - stood on the sidelines and watched with a smirk on their face

Below, Guy lays out the IRS' scandalous admission (http://townhall.com/tipsheet/carolplattliebau/2013/05/10/not-the-first-time-nonliberal-groups-targeted-by-irs-n1592845#) that it targeted Tea Party groups based on those groups' viewpoints (http://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/2013/05/10/oh-my-irs-admits-inappropriately-targeting-conservative-groups-in-2012-n1592499) -- a First Amendment constitutional violation if ever there was one. One is tempted to hope that the unjustly-audited groups seek any redress that's available under law -- hopefully, with plenty of discovery -- to complement any other government investigations (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/05/10/mcconnell-on-irs-apology-not-enough/).

But note that this is not the first time political gamesmanship at the IRS has been detected. The late Robert Novak, writing in 2002, pointed out another IRS admission that it harassed conservative organizations during the Clinton administration.

From this, two observations can be drawn: First, the IRS absues occurred during Democrat presidencies. It doesn't seem to me to be a coincidence that the party of big government has, in recent years, been the party most willing to use that big government for illegitmate purposes. One reason conservatives distrust big government is because it is far too easy for the corrupt and the ruthless to exploit state apparatus for their own partisan purposes.

Second, the quiescence of the press may also explain why it's been Democrat presidencies featuring these abuses in recent years. Compare the coverage of this story -- and the earlier IRS abuse during the Clinton years -- with the holy hell that broke out when Richard Nixon was caught using the IRS for political purposes. It's a sharp contrast. In other words, Republicans know they will pay a steep price for abusing the public trust . . . and the press clearly is more indignant about political audits being inflicted on groups with which they sympathize.

Dem/libs/leftists have always used government power to attack political opponents with. They do so at least at 20 times the rate their opposition ever does. That is because they have no ability to control excessive actions they take against those they hate and want to ultimately destroy. The true hardcore haters that constantly accuse their opposition of having that status.--Tyr

That is one of the big difference between conservatives and liberals

When most conservatives see/hear something they disagree with they either listen politely or move along

When most libs see/hear something they disagree with they want the source silenced, taken off the air, and/or try to shout the source down

Yes, censorship is a major part of their tactics and they are always demanding it of their oposition.

Look at the "Hush Rush" crowd

Libs claim to be open-minded and welcomes different opinions

But they have tried to get Rush off the air for over 35 years

Libs are pissed people choose to listen to Rush and choose NOT to listen to far left radio hosts in similar numbers

With libs, it seems choice is only OK with them when it comes to moms killing their unborn children and when libs agree with what people choose
