View Full Version : Obama going after Fox News

A Fox News correspondent was labeled in a Justice Department affidavit as a possible "co-conspirator" for his alleged role in publishing sensitive security information -- in a leak case that takes the highly unusual step of claiming a journalist broke the law.
According to court documents (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/interactive/2013/05/20/court-documents-in-leak-case-involving-fox-news-journalist/), the Justice Department obtained a portfolio of information about Fox News' James Rosen's conversations and visits to the State Department. This included a search warrant for his personal emails.
The effort follows that by the department to secretly obtain two months of phone records from Associated Press journalists as part of a separate leak probe. The department in this case, though, went a step further -- as an FBI agent claimed there's evidence the Fox News correspondent broke the law, "at the very least, either as an aider, abettor and/or co-conspirator."
Michael Clemente, Fox News' executive vice president of news, defended Rosen in a statement issued Monday afternoon.
"We are outraged to learn today that James Rosen was named a criminal co-conspirator for simply doing his job as a reporter," Clemente said. "In fact, it is downright chilling. We will unequivocally defend his right to operate as a member of what up until now has always been a free press."
The case has also caught the attention of Congress. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said in a statement Monday he was "very concerned" about the reports of "possible criminal prosecution for doing what appears to be normal news-gathering protected by the First Amendment."

When hasn't Obama singled out Fox News?

For that matter Pres Thin Skin has singled out Rush and Sean Hannity many times.

It is clear, we have Nixon 2.0 in the White House. Unlike then the media is on his side and will have to be dragged kicking and screaming to report the story

That is all true, but this time it is going on in court.

We will see what happens. It is fun watching the algebra media try to spin for Obama, and their logic makes a figure 8 look like a straight line

Why shouldn't Obama single out Fox News? They are the mouthpiece for the Republican party. I am surprised the Justice Department hasn't filed any trumped up charged against Fox or some of the radio talking heads.

Correct. The press should represent the party that is in power.

Absent the free press, we never would know about Watergate nor would we know the trail by Clinton causing him to be impeached.

But the Feds are not supposed to attack the FOX news reporters for merely doing the job they were hired to do and in the proper way of doing it. This crap smells like Hitler is in power.

I believe that the DOJ does it because Obama tells them to do it.

When I paid for FOX NEWS daily, I recall those names. FOX presents both sides. I think what Gabby wants is for them present only her side. Wait a minute, she admitted it.

Gabby is more suited as a host on MSNBC or a radio talk show host

In both cases when she wants another persons opinion she will tell it to them

Right you are. Now I plan to get back to the issue and she is not my issue for now.

I keep trying to add to your reputation and thank you again for your part but keep getting the message I need to spread it out more. I plan to see what i can do to get you more Rep.

As to partisans FOX uses your side a lot. If you don't like them, perhaps you want pure left wing drivel. Sorry but I don't mind your sides drivel so long as we can also get the truth.

FOX ranks the best for truth.
