View Full Version : Bridge over Seattle area river collapses; cars in water

This bridge collapse north of Seattle is eerily similar to a similar incident in Minneapolis. Only this bridge is not as heavily traveled.

My husband's brother-in-law is a structural engineer in Minneapolis and helped investigate that collapse.

My brother-in-law by marriage is a structural engineer and was 10 minutes away when the I-35 Bridge in Minneapolis collapsed. He was one of the first people in the water trying to figure out what happened and had to deal with the carnage. He told us that he had nightmares about it for years.

I bring this up because I pray for those involved the Seattle area collapse as well as those charged with investigating it.

I looked at the link and it claims the bridge fell due to a collision by a huge truck.

It must have bounced a huge amount to dislodge it off the pier. That is earthquake country and my humble opinion is it was not earthquake ready.
