View Full Version : Doesn't Anyone Here Have a Job?

I took the day off mainly because of the weather and spent the day posting here, I was surprised how active this site is during a weekday. Some folks posted all day long. [there's one who probably wished he hadn't, but I won't mention any names] Big Fun!

God Bless the Internet! [That's a Protestant prayer, btw, They say it 4 times a day at pre-specified hours.]

I have the worst job in the world right now, or 2 of them actually. First I am Mr. Mom to a pre-teen who thinks he knows more than his parents and acts like he owns us. Secondly, I am Susie Homemaker and responsible for keeping the entire house clean, dishes down, laundry done, little wormy kid off to school, food shopping and other typical errands. If you see me, please kill me.

I am no longer employable. No job. Worked thirty years at the same job. Retired now. No need. Wish I could help my wife more. Both of us are retired. Maybe someday. All of you will learn how being Retired isn't all Fishin', Golfin' and Vacationin'. That takes money we just don't have anymore.

I guess she gets to do that if she's payin' the bills. There's always a downside.....

Mrs.BillyBob homeschooled our 2 boys, the youngest just graduated High School. It's been tough with just 1 income but well worth it.

I am blessed Billybob to own the company. While it is small, I have no bosses and can post all I want to. At my age, why not? I can grab the phone instantly and do plenty of work so i post as I can.

I have a son a lot older than Jim and he works all day long. He is a well paid tech for an electronics firm. He hates Obama by the way. He works in a clean room all day long and tinkers with machines costing millions of dollars and keeps them working as new.

When I need him, he shows up to help me on my computer.

We own a small plumbing/general contracting company. We do OK but in this down economy we took a hit. But it is very rewarding being self-employed, despite the struggles.

When I had to, I sold 60 homes per year. Were I to do that today, we are talking of racking up about a cool million per year.

I used to post on AOL forums and met a nice gal from VA on forums who told me the other day she decided to sell real estate in vA and asked me for help. I tried to help her a bunch. So far, she is still training.

I had a work from home gig until last week. I'm "on the bench" collecting $724 weekly unemployment from the good, willing Massachusetts taxpayers. Wage location, not residence location affects the filing state. However, I have a new gig that starts in a couple of weeks.

The SII is still a fantastic phone. Not everyone updates every year to the latest. I just updated my Galaxy Nexus to a Galaxy Note II. Having a "Phablet" is the way to go these days.

Ya ya ya ya...

The funny thing about Venn Diagrams is despite my high school major being college prep to become an engineer, I had never been exposed to Venn Diagrams. I have only one book on logic and have to check it to see if it mentions them.

A lot of things are unquestioned by most of us.

Such as ... why do they call them jig saw puzzles. Does that mean a jig saw cuts out those shapes?

See, this is up my alley. I know precisely how jig saw puzzles are cut out.

A steel rule die is used. I made some when I owned a machine shop. Matter of fact I used that principle to cut out a lot of stainless steel parts.

Not everybody gets exposed to Venn diagrams.

Good to know that you are living off the government. Though I don't see how you could make that much off unemployment. Hope you enjoy being a bum while others work to pay for your laziness. I hope you had to take a drug test.

Being a tax and spend liberal I thought you would love people to live off what they got from the kind and generous government

That is what the libs war on poverty is all about. Take from those who earn it and redistribute it those who the government deems entitled to it

I would love for those who get a government handout to take drug tests. If I have to take (and pass) a drug test for a job where part of my income is taken away to pay for welfare benefits - then the people getting the wlefare should also have to take (and pas) a drug tesr

Yeah, sort of getting that as a vibe between BB and RW. Seems to be an effort on both their parts to draw RSR in for a Ménage à trois. So far, RSR has tried to keep it clean. ;)

Lame? Lame??? I'm doing pretty well so far and unlike these two retards I am actually infusing a sense of humor into my flame posts while brilliantly participating in regular, hard-hitting topical discussions. There should be an award for such proficiency!

Besides, you'd be surprised how many reps I get when I squash Marcus Whineyus like the insignificant, useless little bug he is. Another one arguing with the board owner, after repeatedly being told to knock it off. Sounds familiar, eh folks?
