Say Tailfins

Hate to rag on your avatar but are you really a clunky station wagon guy or are you the sort of guy who would drive this Impala?

It will make me proud since in 1959, I used to drive one of those.

Just like this one. It had the 335 engine with the 4 speed stick transmission.

why are you flaming another poster on their choice of Avatar? threads calling out members are against the rules, outside the Cage.

It's OK. I like the 1959 wagons and El Caminos because they show what lengths Chevrolet went to in order to have tailfins on so many models. It's a tribute to Harley Earl's grand obsession. Extra credit for how much you know about Harley Earl.

To each his own of course. I respect your choice. That is why I posted for you a Chevy with fins. The 59 was the second with fins, the 57 being the first.

I recall Harley Earl. He was an Engineer for GM and became the president. I forget but he may have been GM president when I worked at the GM factory for 3 months.

Points for what you know about Zora Arkus Duntov.

(now I have to research Earl to make sure I am right)

It looks like you exasperated your father.

I did exasperate my dad. But he still has hair.

Maybe that photo you shared is the father in law or an uncle?

Like your father, this poster still has a full head of hair.
