This is a new one! A 65 year old gay man adopts his 73 year old lover in order to avoid paying inheritance tax on anything his partner wills to him. In Pennsylvania gay marriage is not legal so they came up with this creative way to get around the problem hetero married couples do not face. Congrats to "Gregory" and his new 73 year old son. Now when you tell him to slap your ass and call you daddy, you really mean it

So, a gay couple can do this for financial reasons, but a straight couple can't?

I believe this has already been disallowed by the court. In the case of a rich guy who tried to adopt his younger lover to avoid paying taxes.

This story highlights the stupidity of so many laws that attempt to influence behavior.
