Thoughts? I found this very interesting, something Illinois might want to look at since Illinois politics are seem to be lead by what Chicago does.

Voters in several rural Colorado counties will be asked whether they want to form a new state tentatively named Northern Colorado (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/northern-colorado/) in the November election, a reaction to the Democrat-controlled state legislature’s “war on rural Colorado.”
The Weld County Commissioners voted unanimously at Monday’s meeting to place a measure on the Nov. 5 ballot asking voters whether they want the county to join other rural counties in forming another state.
“The concerns of rural Coloradans have been ignored for years,” William Garcia (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/william-garcia/), chairman of the Weld County (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/weld-county/) Commissioners, said in a statement. “The last session was the straw that broke the camel’s back for many people. They want change. They want to be heard.”
Three other rural counties — Cheyenne, Sedgwick and Yuma — also plan to place the 51st state referendum on the fall ballot. At least three more counties plan to consider the proposal this week at their commission meetings, said Jeffrey Hare (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/jeffrey-hare/), spokesman for the 51st State Initiative.

New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new States shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.

If the Dems are OK with screwing the out-state in the first place then it's unlikely they would let them go.

Being in, or living in Colorado today gives a whole, new meaning to the "MILE HIGH" city, and attitude.
Seems Co. residents are SO HIGH all the time with legal Pot. We should allow them whatever they want. The self-destruction will teach the rest of the nation a good lesson.

Yeah, aint gonna happen. We southerners in California have tried on a number of occasions to secede from our northern lunatics without success. I'm becoming convinced that the only reason we won't add a 51st state is because we're too lazy to have to go through the whole rigmarole of replacing all of our flags on the planet.
