My Boss Promoted Me

Prior to my promotion I was a Loan Servicing Specialist 3, and on a whim I asked my boss what it would take to make LSS4. I knew one of the requirements was to take on more difficult and time consuming cases (something I considered a pain in the ass) and he said we will talk about it.

I thought OK - not going to happen

After about 10 min I had a email asking to confirm a meeting. I accepted. The next day we talked and after talking about the money, and the support I would have with the new cases - I accepted the offer subject to upper management approval

The next day it was official. I was promoted to LSS 4 with a nice hourly increase.

The #2 manager told me how "we thought you were not interested in this position". I asked her if she ever saw the movie "The Hunt for Red October"? She said yes and I reminded her of the scene where Sean Connery talks about when Cortez discovered the new world he burned his ships. His crew was then highly motivated

I bought a new care and now I am highly motivated

She laughed and told me she and the rest of the management team appreciates my hard work, flexibility, and positive attitude

I appreciate having a stable and decent paying job in this Obama recovery

Cash and Credit Bureau cases

Cash cases involves misapplied funds, h/o alleging they sent a payment that was not posted, or funds posted to another loan. All involve relying on other departments to get back to you and I hate that. That was one reason I took additional training to do some things myself. I like to get my case, do the research, and close it out within one business day

The same with CB cases

Like us, all departments are busy as hell and while I have patience - it is the waiting that bugs me :laugh2:

The volume has slowed down and the OT has been cancelled for now

New system upgrades and we have so many "bugs" they better call Orkin in to get rid of them

I am staying busy for 40 hours/wk but damn I miss those large checks every 2 weeks
