It's been a whie since I posted anything, so I'll come back with big news.
Really bad news... But big.

WASHINGTON -- The Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted to authorize President Obama to use limited force against Syria Wednesday, after adopting amendments from Sen. John McCain designed to "change the military equation on the battlefield."The Senate resolution would limit hostilities to 60 or 90 days, narrow the conflict to Syria's borders and prohibit U.S. troops on Syrian soil. McCain's amendments didn't change that scope, but made clear that the end goal should be "a negotiated settlement that ends the conflict and leads to a democratic government in Syria."
The vote was 10-7.
The committee's consensus followed closed-door meetings Wednesday morning, which delayed the start of the committee's meeting by nearly three hours.
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., voted no, and unsuccessfully sought an amendment that would reaffirm Congress's preeminent role in declaring war, as reflected in the 1973 War Powers Act. "The constitution doesn't really differentiate between big wars and small wars," he said. The committee left the constitutional issue unresolved, tabling Paul's amendment by a 14-5 vote.Paul remains a staunch opponent of an attack on Syria, but said any suggestion that he would filibuster the resolution was "a misinterpretation by the media."
The committee also rejected an amendment by Sen. Tom Udall, D-N.M., that would have prohibited air and naval forces from being put into Syrian waters or air space. In the end, Udall was the only one to support it. "If we start down this road, we're going to be running the campaign from here, and as smart as we are, we're not that smart," McCain said.
McCain's amendment was co-sponsored by Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., who emphasized that the language would not change the scope of the authority Congress was giving the president, but would help frame the policy behind it. The committee approved those amendments by a voice vote.
Administration officials have been arguing to Congress that "regime change" would not be the goal of U.S. military operations in Syria.

McCain is considered a critical vote on the Syria resolution, so much so that President Obama met privately Monday with McCain and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., to discuss the administration's broader strategy in Syria.

Well, if we're going to get involved, this seems to keep our involvement in a limited, well defined area.

This seems to be a waste of time.

Of course the senate is going to back the President. Hopefully the House is smarter and does the right thing and says 'no'.

Well, if one were to look for a silver lining in all of this, it's that Obama's approval rating and likely the Democrats will definitely be lower for the mid term election. Once we step into this, it's likely to escalate, then there will be boots on the ground and probably dead Americans, too.

Seems like the Democat Party is acting like lemmings... following their leader off of the big cliff to their demise.

This just proves what many on the Right have been saying all along. It doesn't matter what Obama does, the liberals will back him until the bitter end.

the full senate still has to vote

I don't know if there's going to be a march but there should be
BUT all of us can call our "REPRESENTATIVES" and tell them who in God's Name they work for!
Well can we just pick up the phone and call our congress people and senators offices and tell them were we stand and want them to stand?

The congress critters are still afraid of the people .. IF ENOUGH OF US LET THEM KNOW WE'RE GENUINELY PISSED they'll join the bandwagon and try to take the lead.

"the American people have spoken and i've Allllwaay stood with my constituents and strongly on this issue blah blah blah...."http://www.politicalwrinkles.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Many just need cover to dodge whatever agenda is being pushed on them here, whatever promises they are being made or whatever real gains are being hoped for by an U.S invasion Syria.
From the info we have, it's just plain STUPID to send anyone in Syria 1 bullet or a nickel.
And with the Clear knowledge that 90% of Americans DO NOT want to attack Syria what could be the motive for congress to authorize an attack?
there is no obvious reason.
There are agendas at play outside of the Americans people view.
And definitely outside of the recent mystery, yet to be investigated, chemical weapons attack.
I don't need to know WHAT or WHO the congress are working for at this point, ALL we need to do to right now is tell them we aren't Buying this weeks load of crap on fire.

"...Red line, humanitarian bombing strikes, chemical weapons , Iran, terror, WMDs.... the children..."
BS!

If you'd like to let your congress person know how you feel about it, NOW is the time.
those idiotcommittee Senators voted a resolution to Authorize (http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/officials-press-lawmakers-to-approve-syria-strike-obama-invokes-congresss-credibility/2013/09/04/4c93a858-155c-11e3-804b-d3a1a3a18f2c_story.html) another freaking war over less than BS.

Many of you have guns ready to shoot poor military or police if they are ordered to take your weapons. Can you make a phone call? write a letter?

Let them know they've exposed there backsides as traitors if they authorize 1 missile against Syria against the will of the people.

Of course try not to sound like a nut and don't hog the line, but some outrage is called for here.
How can 90% of the public be against invasion/bombing and the congress and president do it anyway? It's INSANE! not to mention dictatorial.

If Obama ignores the congress (if congress does the right thing and votes H3LL NO) here
he'll just be showing AGAIN he's assumed dictatorial powers to murder-death-kill anyone on the planet, at anytime, at his own discretion.

Please call the weak corrupt scumbags that claim to represent you.
call earlier pass it on.

What I don't enjoy about this whole thing is that obama seems to be the one in charge of the whole going to war thing. When in fact it's congress that makes that final decision.
Proof of his dictatorship... That no one's stepping in to tell him otherwise. Too bad both the reps and dems dodn't want to bring it, up so they can use it in the future...
