2003: California recalls Democrat governor Gray Davis, puts in Ahnold Schwarzenegger (R). Davis ran on the slogan "I kept the lights on in this state", apparently forgetting the rolling blackouts that darkened many parts of California duing his term after he negotiated huge rate increases for electric-power providers.

2012: Wisconsin Democrats try to recall governor Scott Walker (R) and fail. In the recall vote, heavily promoted by Democrats in and out of state, Walker winds up with a higher percentage of votes than in the election that originally put him into office.

2013: Colorado recalls Democrat state senators John Morse (D) and Angela Giron (D) who voted for restrictive gun-control policies. Despite being outspent 7 to 1, people favoring the recall win, and the two Democrats are replaced by Republicans.

The score so far:

Republicans: 4 wins
Democrats: 4 losses

An interesting pattern seems to be developing over the years: Democrats seem unable to win when they try to recall Republicans, and also unable to win when normal people recall them.

It also shows that conservatism wins over liberalism whenever it's tried, even in heavily Democrat voting districts.
