OK before said poster checks snopes on me I don't know if this is true but like the idea very much

A new petition (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/give-president-putin-nobel-peace-prize-mr-obama-was-given-2009/d8k9BXJT) on the White House’s “We the People” petition submission site seeks to have President Obama hand over his 2009 Nobel Peace Prize to Russian president Vladimir Putin, given the former KGB agent’s work in bringing talks over a potential U.S. military assault on Syria to a halt.
http://static.infowars.com/bindnfocom/2013/09/whitehousepet.jpg (http://static.infowars.com/bindnfocom/2013/09/whitehousepet.jpg)Petition states Putin “enabled the US to avoid unwanted and unwarranted military action…”

The full text of the petition, which is available here (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/give-president-putin-nobel-peace-prize-mr-obama-was-given-2009/d8k9BXJT), states:
Where as Mr. Obama made a sincere commitment to starting a war with Syria, engaging our military in unwanted conflict, and doing so without the support of his people we resolve that Mr. Obama should deliver the Nobel Peace prize given to him in 2009 to a man of Peace, the President of Russia, Mr. Putin. Where as Mr. Putin enabled the United States to avoid an unwanted and unwarranted military action he has brought us to the “brink” of peace.

It's hard to believe, but I checked it out and ......Obama did in fact receive a nobel prize.

Yes, he received it I think a month into his first term, or some short period of time like that.

I wonder if the threshold for 'responding' to those petitions is still set at 100k. If so I hope it makes it there, as I want to see the WH response. They are so often quite a funny joke.

i was just joshing with Jeff over the snopes thing. I'd called him out over another story.

Here's where I'd take the side that Obama would squash the story. I remember there was a petition for states to secede or some such, but when I went to see the results it was already taken down.
