Seems the head librarian didn't like this child "hogging" the most read books award for a few years in a row. The woman who reported his accomplishment to the paper was fired, and she feels this is the reason. Seems to me like another situation where we don't want to make the less achieving children "feel badly". Who is stopping any of them from reading more?

I hate these types of 'no success' folks.

Yep, the dumbing down of America by rewarding lack of achievement. At least the moron woman that made the comments about 'hogging' and put forth the stupid 'feel good' ideas no longer works there.

I have a sure cure for kids that "feel badly": work harder. I fault librarian "Gram" for one thing: Showing that kind of loyalty to ANY organization. Twenty-Eight years, what was she thinking? Anyone who sticks around more than five years has stagnated.
