Man 8 hours and they are still investigating, what is to investigate the would be thief learned not to take what isn't yours period ! I hope not but it won't surprise me at all if they come back with a excessive force charge or some other B.S. like that, when it is real simple don't steal and stay alive.

The car thief, identified only as a 27 year old male, was out for a romantic evening ride with his girlfriend in a stolen Honda. At some point late in the evening, they decided to steal another vehicle; that’s when they came upon the soldier’s prized truck. Unfortunately for the thief, said truck owner was awake in a nearby house having a late night conversation with his aunt.
Around the time the thief was beginning his attempted car theft the Marine, identified by police as “Keener” age 24, and his aunt decided to take the dog for a walk. When Keener stepped outside he immediately noticed something amiss and moved to confront the thieves. It’s unclear at this point who fired first, but gunshots drew the aunt out of the house to see what was happening. When she emerged, her nephew, Keener, pushed her to safety and yelled, “Gun!” At which point he and the male car thief exchanged gunshots.
The Marine was more accurate, shooting and killing the car thief.
