Dang we paid all that money for something that doesn't even work , I have to wonder how 634 million could of been spent in a better way .

<article id="content" class="single-post" itemprop="articleBody"> It’s been one full week since the flagship technology portion of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) went live. And since that time, the befuddled beast (http://www.digitaltrends.com/web/obamacare-website-outage-forces-uninsured-to-use-1800s-technology/) that is Healthcare.gov has shutdown, crapped out, stalled, and mis-loaded so consistently that its track record for failure is challenged only by Congress.
The site itself, which apparently underwent major code renovations over the weekend, still rejects user logins, fails to load drop-down menus and other crucial components for users that successfully gain entrance, and otherwise prevents uninsured Americans in the 36 states it serves from purchasing healthcare at competitive rates – Healthcare.gov’s primary purpose. The site is so busted that, as of a couple days ago, the number of people that successfully purchased healthcare through it was in the “single digits,” according to the Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/obamacare-site-goes-live-with-some-glitches/2013/10/01/380a4300-2a9d-11e3-8ade-a1f23cda135e_story.html).

At least one group of people should be happy about all of this...the developers at CGI Federal. Those guys are probably set for life after that whopper of a contract.
I could have developed this application with the same level of quality and I only would have charged the Feds 63.4 million dollars. :p

No one could build a quality site of that magnitude by themselves. If you think less than 20 people can effectively do it, you're fooling yourself.

John MacAfee, former owner of the MacAfee systems, says the site is horrible as far a security is concerned. That it's ripe for ID thieves to clone and pull people's info.

http://www.digitaltrends.com/opinion/obamacare-healthcare-gov-website-cost/ A fitting start to a "destructive monster" intended to destroy the better part of America IMHO. --TYR

Yep, the gov. can't even build a websight and people want them in charge of their healthcare.

I will say it again.... If insurance coverage wasn't a money maker the government would want nothing to do with it. The Affordable Care Act is nothing more than the gov. wanting a piece of the pie.

I didn't say I could build a quality site of that magnitude by myself or even with 20 people.
I said I could build a site of the same quality they have now at a tenth of the price.
It's not hard to build something that doesn't work

Brasilia had cost USD 10 billion (in current dollars) to construct when the capital was moved from Rio de Janeiro in 1960. It's held up as an example of "build it at any cost". When Brazil can build its entire Capital city for two percent of what our government build a website, we are in serious trouble.

Brasília custou cerca de um bilhão de dólares.

One 1960 dollar = ten 2013 dollars.
