Someone at NBC is in big trouble. The IRS is checking out tax returns, phones are being tapped, and get ready for the spin cycle to be set on turbo

An NBC reporter is actually doing some reporting and telling us what we already know about Obamacare

President Obama repeatedly assured Americans that after the Affordable Care Act became law, people who liked their health insurance would be able to keep it. But millions of Americans are getting or are about to get cancellation letters for their health insurance under Obamacare, say experts, and the Obama administration has known that for at least three years.
<!-- end21222252 -->
Four sources deeply involved in the Affordable Care Act tell NBC News that 50 to 75 percent of the 14 million consumers who buy their insurance individually can expect to receive a “cancellation” letter or the equivalent over the next year because their existing policies don’t meet the standards mandated by the new health care law. One expert predicts that number could reach as high as 80 percent. And all say that many of those forced to buy pricier new policies will experience “sticker shock.”

None of this should come as a shock to the Obama administration. The law states that policies in effect as of March 23, 2010 will be “grandfathered,” meaning consumers can keep those policies even though they don’t meet requirements of the new health care law. But the Department of Health and Human Services then wrote regulations that narrowed that provision, by saying that if any part of a policy was significantly changed since that date -- the deductible, co-pay, or benefits, for example -- the policy would not be grandfathered.

Buried in Obamacare regulations from July 2010 is an estimate that because of normal turnover in the individual insurance market, “40 to 67 percent” of customers will not be able to keep their policy. And because many policies will have been changed since the key date, “the percentage of individual market policies losing grandfather status in a given year exceeds the 40 to 67 percent range.”

That means the administration knew that more than 40 to 67 percent of those in the individual market would not be able to keep their plans, even if they liked them.

Yet President Obama, who had promised in 2009, “if you like your health plan, you will be able to keep your health plan,” was still saying in 2012, “If [you] already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance.”

Here is one of the excuses being offered up by the administration as too why folks are losing their current coverage

Warning - do not eat or drink anything as you may spit it out all over your computer due to laughter

Valerie Jarrett: Obamacare doesn’t force you off your plan; your insurance company does, by complying with Obamacare!

It’s just one tweet, but the sheer mendacity requires its own post. With the media finally in “now it can be told” mode since Obamacare passed and President Obama was reelected, pretty much everyone is admitting what all of us knew four years ago— that no, not everyone would be able to keep their plans if they liked their plans. And, yes, the Obama administration knew it just as sure as its critics did.

It was a lie and an obvious one, but the administration, much of the media, and Obamacare supporters happily acted as if it were true and happily smeared those who suggested otherwise. Tonight, the president’s right-hand woman tries the lie again, even as it’s demonstrably unraveling before the nation’s eyes.

FACT: Nothing in #Obamacare (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Obamacare&src=hash) forces people out of their health plans. No change is required unless insurance companies change existing plans.

Let’s try to walk through this inanity. There’s nothing in Obamacare that forces people out of their health plans. Instead, Jarrett asserts, insurance companies are just deciding to change their plans, throwing people off their current coverage.

She leaves out the part where Obamacare legally requires all health insurance plans to include a certain number of benefits that was above and beyond what many more, ahem, affordable plans offered, thereby making certain plans illegal. Many of those plans were plans that people liked and were assured they could keep. Obamacare offered a “grandfathering” clause, which the administration later eviscerated after it had served its political purpose (http://hotair.com/archives/2013/10/28/question-for-jay-carney-didnt-obama-lie-when-he-told-people-if-you-like-your-plan-you-can-keep-your-plan/), ensuring even more people would lose their current coverage. So, no change is required by you under Obamacare unless your insurance company goes and changes your existing plan to comply with Obamacare.

So basically, Obamacare doesn't force folks to buy new insurance... it just requires the insurance providers to change their coverage enough to force them to cancel those plans.

And, if forces Men, Boys, Elderly to accept the OBAMACARE requirements to pay for Birth Control, and eventually...Abortion clinic doctors.

How great is that????

As usual the Dems are passing the buck for their failures. Now it is the insurance companies fault people are losing their current coverage not Obamacare

Carney on cancellations: Insurers “basically threw you off that plan,” you know, not ObamaCare

Gone is yesterday’s equivocating defense (http://hotair.com/archives/2013/10/28/question-for-jay-carney-didnt-obama-lie-when-he-told-people-if-you-like-your-plan-you-can-keep-your-plan/) on the millions of distributed insurance cancellations currently shattering the great ObamaCare myth that was “If you like your plan, you can keep it.” After Valerie Jarrett (http://hotair.com/archives/2013/10/28/valerie-jarrett-obamacare-doesnt-force-you-off-your-plan-your-insurance-company-does-by-complying-with-obamacare/)‘s… er… “creative” contribution to the discussion last night, Carney was much more prepared for the question at today’s White House briefing with a more shrewdly crafted offensive strategy — because as we’re all well aware by now, unintentional concessions (don’t even think about apologies, not gonna’ happen) rarely last long in this administration before giving way to well-rehearsed, righteously indignant spin-doctoring.

Today, even the White House agrees that the issue “deserves fuller explanation,” and the nutshell version of that explanation amounts to this: Basically, this entire mess is insurance companies’ fault because of the regular turnover in the individual insurance market, and for ever having dared to offer the less-than-fully comprehensive plans envisioned by ObamaCare or ever having limited their acceptance of pre-existing conditions in that market. …At least, that’s what I think he’s saying. It seems to be the hot new talking point, anyway.

But the thing is, we don't even need to go there. The whole thing falls down on basic premise, before you even bring up the extreme stuff. When conservatives start going over the birth control and abortion points, everyone pretty well clicks off, and dismiss our whole argument.

I think we've been taking a wrong-headed approach to explaining how ACA doesn't work, talking about death panels and whatnot. Instead, we need to attack the clear and obvious failures of ACA, such as this, and point out the sheer bullshit that is being slung about it.

We keep focusing on the worst case scenario, but we don't need that, because the basic structure isn't sound.

There are death panels. After Obamacare was rammed through many of the supports of Obamacare have admitted as much

They know damn well it is too costly to extend the lives of the old an sick and their answer is to deny treatment and provide end of life info

Once this fails and the handouts are going out - it wlil be damn near impossible to get rid of the program. Dems will then demand a single payer system

None of this should be a surprise to anyone that was paying attention... the end goal is single payer, and this put forth this horrible legislation in order to destroy the health care industry so they can then try and justify more government intrusion and control to fix this bit of government intrusion and control.

CBS says 2 million.

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505263_162-57609737/obamacare-more-than-2-million-people-getting-booted-from-existing-health-insurance-plans/

(CBS News) CBS News has learned more than two million Americans have been told they cannot renew their current insurance policies -- more than triple the number of people said to be buying insurance under the new Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare.Special section: Health care in America (http://www.cbsnews.com/2718-250_162-209/health-care/)
There have been estimates about hundreds of thousands of people losing coverage, CBS News' Jan Crawford reported on "CBS This Morning." CBS News has reached out to insurance companies across the country to determine some of the real numbers -- and this is just the tip of the iceberg, Crawford said. The people who are opening the letters are shocked to learn they can't keep their insurance policies despite President Obama's assurances to the contrary.
The White House is on the defensive trying to explain it, after Mr. Obama repeatedly said, "If you like your doctor or health care plan, you can keep it."
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said, "What the president said and what everybody said all along is that there are going to be changes brought about by the Affordable Care Act to create minimum standards of coverage."
It's an unexpected reality of Obamacare being told through anecdotes in local papers and on social media. But the hard numbers reveal the evidence is far more than anecdotal. CBS News has confirmed with insurance companies across the country that more than two million people are getting notices they no longer can keep their existing plans. In California, there are 279,000; in Michigan, 140,000; Florida, 300,000; and in New Jersey, 800,000. And those numbers are certain to go even higher. Some companies who tell CBS News they've sent letters won't say how many.
Industry experts like Larry Levitt, of the Kaiser Family Foundation, say the insurance companies have no choice. "What we're seeing now is reality coming into play," he said.

Obamacare forces them to drop many of their plans that don't meet the law's 10 minimum standards, including maternity care, emergency visits, mental health treatment and even pediatric dental care.
That means consumers have to sign on to new plans even if they don't want or need the more generous coverage. Industry experts say about half the people getting the letters will pay more -- and half will pay less, thanks to taxpayer subsidies. Levitt said, "The winners outnumber the losers here, but because of all the website problems, it's hard to find out who the winners are because they don't even know it themselves."
And for the people who've gotten the letters, the broken website is a real problem, Crawford added on "CTM." They don't know what to do. They don't know if they get subsidies. And then there are others getting the letters who have very good insurance but are being told they can't keep it. Industry experts CBS News talked to say for everyone, the best bet is to just call their insurance companies to get the information.

Bottom line is there is no doubt that more people have lost their coverage thanks to Obamacare then the people who actually purchased a policy thanks to Obamacare

Thanks to Obama, some Americans will have more choices

Thanks to Obama, some Americans will have more choices

Like the choice between paying their health insurance or feeding their families

They will not buy any coverage so they can pay the rent/mortgage and feed their families

Obama Internal Revenge Service will be tracking down MILLIONS of tax cheats who will also refuse to pay the tax/fine for not having insurance

And that is when the repeal of Obamacare will happen

And the stupidity continues. Of course I have said the ACA is bad legislation and needs to go, but in order for you to know that reality, you'd need to be able to read AND comprehend. I don't see either happening any time soon.
