$600 million

3 years to design, develop, and test

In the commercial world, this is tantamount to Santa Claus

No development effort, outside of a moonshot or cracking the human genome, has that kind of budget or schedule.

From personal experience, I've developed websites, albeit for internal business applications, with one or two developers, operating on a timescale of weeks or months, with a budget of about $10-30K.

And those websites actually worked.

What malice can't accomplish, incompetence can...

Let's do some math

$600, 000, 000

assume that the labor rate for a developer is $100 an hour

$600,000,000/$100 an hour = 6, 000, 000 man years

It took 3 years, or 6,000 hours (assuming a 40 hour week, 50 weeks a year) to develop www.healthcare.gov

6,000,000 man years/6,000 hours = 1,000 developers

So, it took approximately 1,000 developers working for 3 years to develop a website that does not work.

That's Obama's leadership magic at work.

After 5 years Obama administration is finally getting all the recognition it so richly deserves

And it gets better!!!!!!!!

If you are unfortunate enough to have to sign up for Obama-scare your personal information is NOT secure. Huh? That is building Websites 101. Websites like this should be using firewalls, certificates, HTTPS, and the like to help protect personal information from prying eyes, e.g. hackers.

It took 3 years, over 600 million dollars and several hundred developers to develop a website that not only does not work but does not protect the information of those who trust their personal information to it.

And this is just the beginning. Once the website is fixed (well "fixed" is more likely)... once the policy kicks in, and people really start getting a sense of what Obama is all about, the Democrats might as just as well move to Tibet as far as the mid-term elections are concerned. Obamacare is a gift to the Republicans, if only they are wise enough not to squander the opportunity.

Not that anyone should be surprised - but do not count on the Obamacare site to working by December 01. Folks need to enroll and pay the first months premium by December 15 to have coverage starting January 01, 2014

This is going to so much fun to watch since I doubt the "tech surge" will fix this clusterf**k.

Of course how many more billions of taxpayer money is Obama pissing through to salvage this piece of garbage?
