"Jeitinho Brasileiro" is as Brazilian as black beans and coffee. It means having a trick up your sleeve. Cheating the rules is almost a right, kind of a safety valve against government craziness. That's why this NSA stuff freaks them out so much.

It will be interesting to see where President Dilma Roussef's efforts in this matter go. Here is a news article from today on the matter.

"We consider that privacy on the Internet is part of human rights, and its defense must receive priority treatment in UN discussions," Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff said on her Twitter account.
"The right to privacy cannot be subjected to arbitrary interference, as shown by allegations of (US) spying," she stressed.
