My wife surprised me today and came home from shopping with the Movie "Captain Phillips".

If anyone has any doubts about how strong, and competent our Navy is.

You must see this movie. Gives you a whole new DISRESPECT for Pirates.

And a renewed confidence in our SEALS.

What I don't like about the movie is - it's fiction. The captain - in real life - wasn't so much a hero.

:(

DMP. Did you see it? I thought Hollywood overplayed most of it too. But the miliary/Navy aspects were pretty SPOT-ON. That's about all I got from it. Of course. I'm kinda partial to the Navy, and Seals since I am a Veteran, and most of my neighbors...still report for duty every day.

I haven't - because I know the real-life guy embelished or even lied. :(

That's what people who never watch FOX NEWS always say.

If you haven't seen the movie. Is that logical?

I saw the movie without having heard any of the alleged embellishments. It was very entertaining, and I always appreciate Tom Hanks in a role.

Of course. Guy wrote a book with mis-truths, then 'they' made a movie of it.

(shrug).
