View Full Version : Yahoo acting weird for me

Maybe someone else can check and see if I'm going nuts?

I do a Yahoo search, then click on a site to visit. Normally, when I go back to Yahoo later, and do the same search, the site is listed as visited (it turns from blue to purple in my browser Firefox 27.0.1). Now, when I go back and do the same search, the site remains blue, as if I never visited. This is the same for any page I visit. I opened Internet Explorer and the same problem appears.

Yes, I am logged in. I have tried deleting cookies & temp files, no luck. And considering it happens to me in multiple browsers, I don't think it's a browser issue. I'm hoping someone can confirm/deny!!

Isn't that a function of your history and not the search engine?

Yes, but it still can be the way that Yahoo is transferring information, and I still think that's the case. It happens in FF, IE and Chrome. It works on every other search engine and website I use, only happens on Yahoo. Suppose I do a search, I can then right click on any link and go to it in a new window or tab. While it's still open, I go back to the Yahoo results and it's now marked as read. I then hit F5 to refresh the page, no longer marked as read.

This is driving me nuts!

I did a search on Yahoo, clicked the link. Redid the search on Yahoo, it didn't look "read." Redid the search on Google, it looked "read." :dunno:

So you're having the same problem!! Try what I did, right click on a link and open in new tab. Go back to Yahoo - is it marked as read? Now hit F5. Does it change it back to unread?

I'm going to stab you if you have the same problem, meaning it's on Yahoo's end... I've been literally pulling my hair out, cleaning everything on my machine, several reboots, questions here, on Yahoo and on Facebook. I hate you.

Its big brother spying on all the conservatives here. I've been having multiple freaky issues when I use Google search for FEW MONTHS NOW..

I have a PHP script which creates a mini-search engine and learns as it goes along. Want me to open a 'conservative only' search engine for us? Maybe dpsearch.com? :laugh2:

It seems to be doing the same thing, though I didn't say I had a problem. :poke: I'm going to take a stab here and suggest that there is some minor Yahoo driven change in the web address that changes if you rerun the search. I think all the gobbledygook after the "msu.edu" changes enough that it appears to be a different site.

Well, it doesn't show my results as read already when I run prior searches a second time. That's a fucking problem! LOL

Often I'll read an article, but then have to go back later. It's so much easier when you do a search and it shows the articles you've clicked on already. What if I do a search for DP, and I get lost, I may not make it back here. :poke:

You may be onto something, 'ol FJ liberal fucker!! I did a search on "Diana", as in princess diana. There is the Wiki entry, I right clicked on the link and saved it. Then I went back to Yahoo and did it again, and saved the link a second time. They bring you to the same place, but the links are different. Not sure if that's what is causing it or not, but the bastards need to fix this shit!

We would mourn you. :poke: But I did notice a slight change in all the gobbledygook but I don't know if that would cause your issue. I do know that Google recognizes that I've been there even if I didn't get there via Google.

I just repeated the steps at Google, and the same there - I get 2 different URL's. BUT, the site remains marked as read when I re-search.

Hmm, I don't see where Google adds all the junk when I hover over the link.

Notice the differences in RED. Also, notice the first link in red starts with "Jew". Just sayin' :)

I guess I didn't think that they weren't there, just that they weren't there when hovering over. Maybe Google adds the junk after you click. :dunno:

Either that or you've uncovered the Zionist conspiracy. :poke:

Jim. It's Friday, and the YAHOO'S at Yahoo become the minimum wage, wannabe journalists, and I.T. Non-professionals who honor the old saying "When the CAT'S Away....the Mice will play."

If you watch Yahoo over ANY weekend. It becomes so obvious WHO they left in charge for the weekend.

YAHOO may be a FREE EMAIL service, which gives them all the liberty they need to DO WHATEVER they want to the NON-PAYING members who HAVE NO CONSTITUTIONAL rights.

Namely because Yahoo's YAHOO'S Do Not Know, or Understand what the word CONSTITUTION means.

UNLESS you are a paying member of Yahoo. You should expect all the crap...without answers from them.
