What's wrong with the double negative other languages have it- ne pas?

It isn't illogical it is the Emphatic form of the indicative eg:

I ain't got anything Indicative

I ain't got nothing for Gawd sake! Emphatic

Perfectly straight forward vernacular

I can't speak for other languages, but I am glad to have a native language that is expansive enough to allow for precision in speech. (Not that many of us still seem capable of practicing it these days).

If I'm under attack, and I ask the guy in the foxhole next to me if he has any ammo left, I really need to know if he has any or not. If he replies, "I don't have none", I'd hope that he and I understand what he is really saying. But who knows?

Precision counts. Have you read the book, "Eats, Shoots & Leaves"?

How easy it has become to determine the "IQ" of many people who destroy language because they lack educational intellect.

The easy way to separate the Smart, from the Ignorant is...

Either ASK them a question, and you get an answer or....

You AX dem sometin, and day look at ya blindly, insulted, and still ignorant.
