I've really been looking around for a kitten and she's not happy about it and keeps giving me some serious warnings about what would happen. These threats have kept me at bay for quite a few years now, but I've really got the urge to get one this time, especially after the one I just thought I had fell through. So at dinner tonight I showed my wife these pictures! LOL They are from a local shop that has a few different breeds, and I showed interest in the Bengal kittens and the Siamese. They sent me the pictures. You should have saw the look on her face, she thought for sure that there was already a kitten in the house somewhere. Soon. Here are the latest choices:

The woman will win this round. I forgot the age old question - "if you have to ask how much, you can't afford it". Well I forgot about that one, and have now asked them how much. These assholes want $800 for a Bengal kitten! I think they are some of the cutest kittens on earth, and in another life I might even pay that fee. But it's bad enough I would be sleeping behind the couch for months after this. If I were to spend that money on a cat, I'm liable to further be referred to as "uniball" as my wife would likely remove a testicle!

Kittens aren't all they're cracked up to be anyway. A "Senior Citizen" feline has character. I miss my Siamese that was 12 calendar years old when I got him. He had the most agreeable personality I have ever seen in a cat. He was an old gentleman.

But how was he with other people and other animals? Most Siamese I have ever come across were generally angry little bastards! But they are so darn cute too!

He was always a gentlemen and never cranky. When he stayed at my sister's during vacation, he just climbed on top of the water heater when the dog started bothering him.

Will you buy one of the little Siamese babies for me? At least then part of my battle will be won!

I read this earlier and brought it up to her. She won't cave! She points out that she has let me own dogs, 3 cats over the years, hamsters, various lizards, fish, houseful of crickets that "snuck out" - countless tanks, bulbs, various foods, a million dollars at the vet... I think the last one is the killer.

But I still may change my mind the next time she makes me mad. :coffee:

I'm loathe to agree with a woman "taking charge". However, your wife just "spoke my language" and converted me to her side in this matter. I'm against throwing money away. Even during the "pinball machine war" with my wife a few years back, a repaired pinball machine is worth more than a broken pinball machine, so taking up that pinball machine hobby didn't lose money.
