41-Year itch? I remain unsure of the correct label for my urges. Not [quotey-fingers]those[/quotey-fingers] types of urges common to all men and if they are not common to all men most men are liars or naïve but probably liars.

From within me urges consistently percolate and I am okay with the mental leaps, dreams, and visions created by my thoughts. August-last I picked up a truck aptly named "Expedition" for 'out on a' certainly fits placed to the left of the model name. At least those words fit as answer in terms of "where I want to be".

Looking through forum posts about expeditions and overland adventures draws me into the world I'm reading of and looking-at. Generally desert southwest, but inclusive of nearly every topography, land, country, environment.

I want to GO. Just to be gone. "Gone" has a fresh air about it and I want to be there. Oh, to find a living away from flurecent lighting and cubicles.

Attached are a few photos of places I have yet to tread, but places I think I'd feel most-awesome while touching, seeing, or visiting.

That looks like a lot of good riding! Just plan it and do it. Maybe with the kids? Where is that awesome photo that looks like the grand canyon?

I get that way ever couple years. Used to just go on long, long hunts in the deep woods. Now I just read some of my books on great real life explorations.. Too nailed to my home as of now to be taking of on a nature quest. My son is 7 years old and I have never been away from him more than a day yet!!

Best of luck on your quest.....-Tyr

I need to take a leave of absence and get this out of my system - the plan invovles the kids, Jim; and the pups.

I don't recall where that pic was taken; I think the guy was somewhere in Arizona/Nevada/Utah/california.
