Had a great Sunday. Friends of my roommate took me to Jerome, an old copper mining town. It's about 1000 ft higher than Sedona. Great music in a saloon. I walked around a bit, looking in shops and even visited the museum. It's now a 'ghost town,' meaning tourist area:

Oh Jerome also had an active 'ladies of the evening' trade. ;)

Fantastic Kat, the pictures are great please keep them coming. I love to see them because who knows if I will ever make it to see them myself, so I love to see everyone's pictures. I have been to most of the states but I was working and no time for sight seeing so I can say I have been there and after I see the pics at least I know what I missed

So Kath, when do you plan to visit Grand Canyon? It's just up the road from you!

On our excursion to Vegas, the 25th/26th. :laugh2:

Well I'm in Vegas now! Oh my, what a trip! Perhaps not quite as long as the last day of my excursion from Chicago to Sedona, but we did get stuck about 25-30 miles outside Vegas, in desert, with one bar of cell service! Ended up being for 5.5 hours! 116 F. Between the two of us, we had around 8 bottles of water, juice, tea... Gone in an hour and a half.

We were stuck in a scenic pull of, about 200 ft up and off the highway, enough that cell was spotty-non-existent! People however were constantly stopping, giving us water, Gatorade, heck in the last 2 hours a trucker took one look at me and put me in his truck for 45 minutes to cool down with AC. (Irish do wilt in sun!) Oh Jim, he had a cute Pug that kept me company!

Until the breakdown we were making good time and was I enjoying the scenery!

View from scenic apot, you can see the CO River, we were just miles from Hoover Dam/Lake Mead:

Finally, 5.5 hours after we stopped, less than 30 miles from Vegas, we arrived by tow truck:

Oh, how I envy you and your grand adventure at this time in your life. There's hope for me yet.

One thing about breaking down on a trip ... it helps you to never forget the trip because telling that part of the story is essential to understand the entire concept.

So, was the trucker as cute as his pug? Was he married? Sounds like a true gentleman.

Very much the gentleman, tried to get the car started. He was in his 30's or so. LOL! I was in no position to be a cougar, I was dying out there!

Being me, I got a pic of dog, but not the guy. ;) As you can see, he shared the vents with me!
