Oh man, it's going to really suck to be a terrorist or terrorist supporter today! I don't give Hamas much longer. Alas, we all know that cockroaches are extremely difficult to eradicate, and they will emerge from under the rubble and declare allahu ackbar before starting to rebuild their terror network, and fighting in the name of allah as per the terror group and abbas.

And look, now the animals want a truce! Israel should tell them to shove it, too late.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Israel escalated its military campaign against Hamas on Tuesday, striking symbols of the militant group's control in Gaza and firing tank shells that Palestinian officials said shut down the strip's only power plant in the heaviest bombardment in the war so far.

Hours after the power plant was hit, a tall column of thick black smoke still rose from the plant's burning fuel tank. The station's shutdown was bound to lead to further serious disruptions of the flow of electricity and water to the 1.7 million people packed into the narrow Palestinian territory.

The heavy strikes were a new blow to international efforts to reach a sustainable truce in the fighting, now in its fourth week.

At least 100 Palestinians were killed Tuesday, including 26 who died in airstrikes and tank shelling on four homes, according to Palestinian health officials and the Palestinian Red Crescent. That pushed the overall death toll since the conflict began on July 8 to at least 1,156, according to Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Kidra.

Israel has reported 53 soldiers and three civilians killed.

In the West Bank, a top PLO official offered a 24-hour truce Tuesday, saying he also spoke in the name of Hamas, but the Islamic militants said they want to hear from Israel first. Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev declined comment.

Finish the job, Israel.

It's a grim task but it needs to be done.

The power plant is a good move. Pressure needs to be applied to the terrorist supporters by the general populace. They'll give the terrorists the boot once they've had enough misery.

1156 hamas have been killed in the fighting. They need to say it like it is.

AND.....That's a GOOD thing! Good to see Israel finally able, and willing to EMPTY the trash, once, and for all.

I just hope you're right about Hamas not having much longer, Jim. Could it be that we're underestimating their resilience ?

I have in mind the facts that (a) they've been working, literally for YEARS, on ways to evade retribution if ever visited upon them, and (b) that Gazans did vote them into power, so at least some support from their voters is surely a 'given'. This could turn into a more direct enthusiasm for supporting them, &/or at least being determined to hide them if or when necessary.

Reports I've been hearing talk of Israel's approach being that it'll 'be a long campaign'. So this is far from over, or the outcome certain.

I just hope that Israel holds her nerve, commits to 'the kill' against Hamas, and won't just bend to pressure from Lefties and other misguided idiots who feel that Israel must stop.

Here's an example of a contemptible British Leftie idiot who willfully swallows Hamas propaganda whole. And yes, he's a former deputy Prime Minister of ours ....

Israel’s bombardment of Gaza is “brutally disproportionate and grossly indiscriminate” and must be regarded as a war crime, the former Labour deputy prime minister John Prescott has said.

Any other country would be made an international “pariah” if it acted in the same way, Lord Prescott said, and he directly compared the situation in Gaza with a concentration camp, suggesting the Nazi Holocaust should “give Israelis a unique sense of perspective and empathy with the victims of a ghetto”.

“Imagine a country claiming the lives of nearly three times as many as were lost in the MH17 plane tragedy in less than three weeks,” the former Hull MP wrote in the Sunday Mirror.

“A nation which blasted a hospital, shelled and killed children from a gunboat as they played football on the beach and was responsible for 1,000 deaths, at least 165 of them children, in just two weeks.

“Surely it would be branded a pariah state, condemned by the United Nations, the US and the UK. The calls for regime change would be -deafening.

“But these howls of protest are muted. The condemnation softened. For this is Israel.”

And Lefties aren't terrorist-supporting trash ? Isn't the reference to a concentration camp contemptible in the extreme ? Could Jafar, in his dreams, ever hope to be even more supportive of Hamas than THIS ??

Sadly, the BBC's nightly broadcasts to the British are designed to support comments such as the above.
