Jafar, It is obvious plus you also said yourself that the militants have nowhere to fire the rockets except within civilians/populated area, whether we care or not, it is a violation of Geneva Convention the Palestinians just signed for, not to mention rockets aimed on civilians, and storing weapons and hideouts in residential facilities and UN facilities.

Ah, the good ol' BBC. Always doing their utmost to hype up the 'poor' downtrodden, suffering Gazans' tripe they so love to disseminate. They'll push Hamas material and advertise it as fully authentic. They produce stats fresh from Hamas and report them as factual, without any independent verification attempted.

I've seen nothing from the BBC to acknowledge anything .. er'm, 'off' about such coverage from them. No critical comments at all. And you wouldn't believe how much the Brits soak all this up without questioning what's obvious.

Quite. It's thanks to Hamas tactics that Israel has to do what it's doing. They have no choice ... unless, of course, surrender to Hamas attacks is opted for.

That is exactly what these animals are doing !!! Hopefully this will make Israel so mad that they level them, again I feel for the folks over there that are truly innocent, but those that cheered Hamas on a couple of weeks ago aren't innocent they will ( and deserve ) the same fate as Hamas But with that said I did see a video where one Palestinian did speak up and condemn Hamas, for those folks I feel bad.

I agree about the lame names. And I wholeheartedly agree that Jafar would be a gracious host. In fact, he HAS offered to be a gracious host to me should I ever venture to Australia, and I offered the same should he ever visit the NY area.

I can look past any religious view. I can even look past someone defending their religion when others state it is a source of terrorism/hate/violence. But what I can't overlook - is outright support for a known terrorist group. If you align with one terrorist group because they fight Israel - you would do it with another, even Al Qaeda.

No terrorist group should be supported, no matter the reason. Even if a group somehow helped the USA in any matter, I would still be calling for their death and destruction seconds later.

By issuing pamphlets to vacate the red zone and broadcasting the intent of Israel over radio, TV and intercom, many innocent lives could be saved. I don't care where they go.....Egypt, Syria or the SEA or DESERT. Humanitarian ideas would have them accept women and children who have been frisked and background checked before going to an Israeli refugee camp but at least they will no longer be subjected to the death that HUMMUS would have them die.

After the red zones have been evacuated of "innocent folks" Israel could then unleash their FULL might on the scum who had been using women and children as shields. The Alamo even allowed women and children a way out before totally destroying the opposition within the Alamo's walls. I believe it could work and would show that Israel does have a heart of gold and that the cowards would run like cockroaches into the other areas such as Syria. Israel could then maintain control and allow the refugees to return their homes (under Israeli watch) and with issued ID's so that no cockroaches have slipped back in.

Maybe this is all KraZy but it, at least, the pamphlet idea has worked before.

I do not wish to offend anyone.....especially the thin-skinned ones but I would also ask that slang or vulgar language (within posts, avatars or other) be removed and never again used. Typical BBC. They've been bombarding us with 'sympathise with the Gazans' reports for weeks. Now, they're playing it as an Israeli reaction to condemnation of their actions, and this ceasefire as evidence that they'd grown 'a conscience' about it. They also showed a clip of an aborted attack, aborted at the last second because children had been seen running around in the target area .. this as evidence of their 'new found' conscience.

I tell you, if the BBC isn't a mouthpiece for Hamas, they're managing an Oscar-winning performance as one.

Events have moved on, as of course we'll all know by now. The 72 hour ceasefire folded within the first 3 hours of it.

BBC reports suggest confusion. They haven't, as of right now, anyway, committed themselves to saying which side was responsible for its failure. They do report that Hamas, 'allegedly', used the ceasefire to launch an attack via one of their tunnels. This involved a suicide bomber and the capture of an Israeli soldier, which is getting significant condemnation.

HOWEVER ... the BBC, though it's reporting all this, still isn't definitively stating in its domestic broadcasts that it was Hamas who were responsible for the first violation of the ceasefire !!!!

Hey, Jafar -- I say again, you'd be proud of the BBC right now. If or when they do admit that Hamas used the ceasefire to wage more war, that they were never serious about making sure it held, I have the impression that the BBC will have to be dragged kicking and screaming to get to that point !!

Perhaps that would mean they'd have to acknowledge that the Hamas side, and Gazans more generally, aren't the victims they've been remorselessly been painted as being. And that would call into question the extent of bias the BBC has force-fed us with in the UK for weeks about them.

They're a bit slicker about propaganda than you are, Jafar. Perhaps they've had more practice at it ?

I actually heard of and saw pictures/video of quite a few dead in Gaza. It's such a shame that they believed in a terrorist organization, and that these terrorists brought this crap upon these people.
