UK PM warns ISIS is coming to streets of London

I think what he says is true. It may not be tomorrow, but it will come if ignored. These people have already threatened the UK and the White House. They don't care who they kill, so long as it's non-Muslims and they can continue to build their caliphate.

The West is embroiled in a generational struggle against a poisonous brand of Islamic extremism that will bring terror to the streets of Britain unless urgent action is taken to defeat it, David Cameron warns today.

Writing in The Sunday Telegraph, the Prime Minister says the world cannot turn a blind eye to the creation of an extremist caliphate in the heart of Iraq.

Warning that Islamic State fighters already control thousands of square miles of territory, Mr Cameron says that if these “warped and barbaric” extremists are not dealt with now, they will create a “terrorist state” on the shores of the Mediterranean.

He warns that Britain will have to use its “military prowess” to help defeat “this exceptionally dangerous” movement, or else terrorists with “murderous intent” will target people in Britain.

The Prime Minister says he fears the struggle will last “the rest of my political lifetime”.

“The creation of an extremist caliphate in the heart of Iraq and extending into Syria is not a problem miles away from home. Nor is it a problem that should be defined by a war 10 years ago. It is our concern here and now,” he says.

“Because if we do not act to stem the onslaught of this exceptionally dangerous terrorist movement, it will only grow stronger until it can target us on the streets of Britain. We already know that it has the murderous intent.”

In his article, Mr Cameron says Britain and the West need a firm security response to the crisis in Iraq and that fighters from Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) cannot simply be removed by air strikes alone.

It's good that Cameron has said this, of course. The more that's done to alert the general public of the dangers we face, the better.

But I'd treat Cameron's pronouncements with at least a little caution. He, along with every other senior politician, buys into the fiction (and requires everyone else to, as well) that Islamic terrorism is at best 'extremism', not typical of Islam as a whole, which we're told is a 'peaceful' religion. One purpose in singling out ISIS may have been simply TO single them out, so as to be seen to be differentiating between them and all the others.

New York: British Prime Minister David Cameron on Wednesday termed Islam as a peaceful religion but said that some extremists have hijacked it.

Addressing the UN General Assembly, the prime minister said that the democracy and Islam can run together.

That aside, I think he's just saying what's obvious. We've already had our '7/7' attack against London. Again, in a London suburb, we had the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby. ISIS will doubtless grow in strength, are already known to be recruiting online, and if they manage to make Iraq a Failed State that turns into the kind of terrorist haven Afghanistan was at the turn of the century, all manner of terrorist trash will use it as a base for international terrorism.

'Thanks' is due to Obama for creating the potential for such a scenario to play out, thanks to his advice to our enemies as to EXACTLY what his troop withdrawal intentions were.

Oh, undoubtedly !

But my point is that it'll be done, and is being done, within 'politically correct' parameters.

It's the equivalent of a surgeon identifying a cancerous tumour and alerting the patient as to the dangers it poses .. and doing nothing to consider the wider issue of the cause of the cancer, or other manifestations of it there may be, or what could be done to remedy that cause.

Here in the UK, we live in a society where, to publicly disparage Islam, can be regarded as a 'racist' act, actionable as 'hatespeech'. However, Cameron can remain uncontentious in those terms if he singles out a specific group and maintains a fiction that they cannot be identifiable as remotely mainstream.

I see from your video clips that Anjem Choudary has been active again, again finding a way - even if indirectly - to endorse the ISIS supporters who handed out those leaflets.

I hope that Choudary admitting that those doing it were former students of his, also wakes people up to how dangerous HE is. The BBC has repeatedly interviewed him, giving him airtime and almost 'celebrity' status out of it. He's also repeatedly taken part in the 'Big Questions' debate shows that the BBC periodically airs.

According to Jafar, Choudary was a MI5 'stooge', with a mission to make Islam look bad .. (!!) ...

Hopefully Cameron's warning will be translated into the proper screening of suspects in this country, and NOT be relaxed upon.

Not even our pretend President Obama has been willing to admit that his FRIENDS from the former Muslim Brotherhood, and nation of his birth, are any threat to HUMANS, anywhere in the World.

The UK P.M. is just doing another Obama/Hillary/Holder/Reid/Pelosi/Sharpton/Jackson trick in telling us "We learned about this in the PRESS!"
