Sen. Ted Cruz tried to get the Senate to consider a measure Thursday providing that any American who joins the fight with terrorist groups such as the Islamic State would immediately renounce their U.S. citizenship, but a Democratic senator objected, saying more time is necessary to weigh the significant constitutional issues it raises. Ahead of the Senate’s scheduled consideration Thursday afternoon of a proposal to arm and train Syrian rebels, part of President Obama’s strategy to combat the terrorist group, the Texas Republican asked for unanimous consent to pass the Expatriate Terrorist Act he introduced earlier this month. BoogyMan. You must first remember. Democrats will never do anything to HARM, or DESTROY potential Voters.

The wrong side of course but they do have a point about Constitutional issues.

So true.
I remember all those Constitutional concerns the patriotic dems have raised about Obama's END RUNS around Congress and Executive orders..

Wait a minute, seems Google comes up blank on that. A mere oversight I am sure. . -Tyr

Tyr. You need a caviat or caviot when speaking of Liberals, and the Constitution in the same breath.

They are only patriotic about the parts of the Constitution they agree with, or follow. While the Obama admin. disregards almost all of the Constitution because they DISLIKE being restricted by...of all things...LAWS.

I am not worried about constitutional rights or citizenship for Islamic defectors. Dead people don't need either one. :grenade:

There own. If they permitted the bill to pass and to be signed into law over half of them would loose their citizenship.

If Mr. Cruz had a clear understanding of the US Constitution he should be well aware that legislation should originate from the House of Representatives...not the Senate.

No wonder he does not to wait to explore the constitutionality of a proposed law.

What part of the Constitution do Democrats oppose or disagree with?

Maybe not that direct - but what about the part where the president is supposed to uphold all laws and the constitution? He craps on the laws he is to uphold, and the COTUS, and the rest of the democrats don't do a damn thing about it to question him. That alone is MORE than enough. He/they might not state that they disagree with it - but wiping your ass with it pretty much says the same.

I believe that is limited to bills for "raising revenue."

Lets start with the Second Amendment and go down hill from there.

Nearly the entire document, and every amendment they don't like. Otherwise. They ignore it unless someone tries to use it against them. Then...THEY STAND BY IT...100 Percent.

Just as Obama, and Holder.
