The new addition to my family, 11 week old male, and he's awesome!! The friendliest little bugger in the world. Trying to get pictures but he is tearing around the house like a nut! I already introduced him to the Chihuahua, and they were sniffing noses like the loved one another, then the new little guy gave Porter a love swat, and the love was over, and Porter growled. For now we will let the kitty get acclimated.

So yes, not only am I in the dog house, probably forever, the cat isn't mine! She immediately gave the kitten to my son and said it's his cat. Then she proceeded to name him herself. I wanted to name him after a Steelers player, but couldn't think of any players I liked with cool names (Le'Veon would be weird for a cat). So of course the woman named him Nero, which is black in Italian.

I'll get a few more pics when all calms down. I have to go keep an eye on the woman, make sure she isn't poisoning my food!

Cute kitty.

Chad Scott, former Steeler? Wow, haven't heard that name in a long time! What made you think of him?

Here's a few more of my new buddy! The first one is funny, as Nero's best friend so far is my wife, he keeps trying to snuggle with her. This is him annoying her on the bed. I think she's warming up already. :)

This cat is WEIRD. He's suckling on himself. He's suckling on himself, and then he's kneading into the air with his claws!! And when he's suckling, it's loud! They say it's fairly normal, especially in kittens that may have been away from their Mom's at an early age. Being this was the ASPCA, it's more than likely he was away from his Mom early. Here he is next to my son.

I wish, and that would be cool, but then I'd really be dead! I wanted one or the other, actually. The only white ones they had also had a little black around the eyes, and I preferred a solid white or black. But they had tons of them there from all colors, and I wanted them all, even the 2 with HIV and the 2 with leukemia!! I hated she showed me them, as small kittens. :(

cute kitty Jim ... where you get him?

Briarcliff Manor SPCA here in NY. I'm a sucker for lost animals or given away animals in cages. That's why I never went. And also why I knew the minute I left to go there that I was coming home with a new friend, as no way in hell I go into a place like that and don't come out with at least one pet! :)

So I was upstairs with dogs last night, cat roaming freely downstairs to adjust.

And let's not forget that I wasn't allowed to get a kitten for YEARS. Technically still wasn't, but went and did it yesterday anyway.

So I go downstairs at like 5:45 this morning and I immediately hear a grumbling noise. I walk into her bedroom and instantly see the new kitty, Nero, purring and walking around on her pillow and head! LOL She said she was up half the night, as he kept stealing her pillow, head bumping her, nuzzling, tearing around the house, meowing....

And me? I slept like a newborn kitten! :)

What color are his eyes? I have a black female that was a complete nut her first nite in my home (she was only about 6 wks old). She immediately started in attacking my female Lynx point Siamese cat, who was about 6 mos. old. They became best buds afterwards, but Minx was scared to death of that little bouncing, leaping ball of black fur!

They're like a greenish color. This ones name is Nero, but I already call him psycho. He bounces off the walls, the couches, the litter box (after he scratches litter 15 feet away from it). He doesn't understand "off" at all, as he thinks the kitchen counter belongs to him. And don't dare try and lie down without putting out a weeks worth of food, or he'll meow, purr and step on your head until you get up! Oh, and he did beat up the Chihuahua again. Weird too, as he doesn't care about the Pug. He runs right past the Pug so that he can chase down my Chihuahua. I think it's because that little idiot bounces off the walls too, is also black and has pointy ears. But they have all definitely shown me enough to know they will eventually be friends, just still in the "feeling one another out" stage.

Yep. Or a trick I learned from my vet. Coke can with two coins in it. You shake it at them when they are being bad. Animals don't like the noise. Trains them to stop doing bad things.

Animal abuser!! I actually have a small can of Evian spray. It's meant for hot days, but also gets the little bastard running away REAL fast. Eventually cats will run just at the sight of whatever has the water in it!

That's an awesome idea, never heard of that one! Reminds me of "Chucky", a parrot that my Dad had. I would take out my set of keys and jingle them and he would go berserk and want to eat me! I only did it to him when I knew he was in his cage, as that little fucker had a nasty bite of he got a hold of you!!

I also heard something about putting two-sided tape on something you don't want the cats to get on.

Tape is like kryptonite for cats! Wrap a piece around one of their paws and watch them go insane until it falls off or gets removed. And you better hope for the fall off, as if you have to pickup the little bastard while there is tape on his paw, it might get ugly!!

Of course I try to share my food, but the new kitty doesn't seem to care for human food, minus a small bit of my cheeseburger a few nights ago. He already has so many toys that I had to get a little carrier for them, and he's already lost his favorite toys, the little fake mice. And of course it took about 9 minutes before the woman of the house started treating him better than she does me! :)

I didn't feed it to him, I just didn't do a good job of stopping him. It was just a tiny bite. Then the woman stepped in and spoiled the fun anyway, maybe because it was off of my plate, which was now on the counter. :)

I love cats too. We have three. 2 we recently rescued and the third was given to my daughter by my cousin when she had to have her other kitten put down due to an enlarged heart.

The Ol Water pistol  my cats think the water gun is a game, all I have to do is pick it up and they run like hell but the minute they hear me sit back down they are right back at it  Now the coke can thing would work, I try and make a noise (which they know means I am done with the game ) and it scares them most times, a couple of coins in a tin can would make enough noise to do the trick I believe, Thanks :thumb:

Also I have a 80lb Bully ( a Bully is a short wide Pitt ) that when the cats really piss me off I try to tell to eat the cats, she gets all excited ( tail whipping a million miles a hour ) and jumping all over, but then she runs to the cats and licks them  Dam cats have brain washed my guard dog  I swear when I am not around they do things just to piss me off, such as the squirt bottle is on the floor usually under the table or somewhere they think I wont see it

Kitty got a crinkly bag! This is a permanent one though, not a plastic bag that can hurt him or a brown bag. And the way it's made it does make a crinkling sound if you touch it or if he goes in it. He loves this thing and stands guard while in it, and will attack anything that comes near him! I put Porter on the bed (the Chihuahua) and he didn't even see the cat, until he got close, and kitty popped out and scared the shit out of him. All in good fun though, no claws. Nero likes to sneak around and follow Porter, then pounce on him and run about 200mph under the bed!
