If that is all you got out of it, then you definitely need to read it again.

When it starts out like that the promise of any enlightening material to follow is extinguished quickly.

So sad that you can't see the forest for the trees...

With very high rates of PTSD among people returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, high rates of suicide and substance abuse, the story should be about protecting the people we’ve sent to fight our wars.

Perhaps we don't want to be the poster child for someone's political add campaign. All anyone DOES is throw words at the problem. Or you can sit us in the waiting room at the VA because Lord knows sitting and staring at the clock for 8 hours while having flashbacks is a wonderful cure.

The government uses the military as a political tool and once you're used up, you're done. THAT is a bureaucratic problem, not a party one. Both parties see military personnel as fair game because we have no voice. Unfortunately for both parties, you've created an entire generation of angry war vets who are tired of being screwed.
