Well I just read this and although I am not familiar with a lot of the problems over there (from a racial aspect ) I still find myself agreeing with the sentiment. A lot of you guys here are in at ground level do you agree with him

I don't know if your familiar with our Superman comic books, but Superman has a doppelganger named Bizarro and that's kind where the USA is today. Truth, justice and the American Way have turned 360 degrees to mean Lies, Injustice and the Socialist Way!!!

Nugent is dead on the mark and that is why they so dearly and absolutely hate him!
Plus the guy hunts with guns and bows! Eats what he kills/slays, so very taboo with the PC lemmings..
That rates him even higher in my book.
And he says what he thinks regardless of criticisms blasted at him for doing so!
I know the feeling all too well on that myself..... endured that all my life , still do..

Nugent is da man, da man they wish was dead.. -Tyr

He gets it right...

It is liberalism that engineered and created the very conditions that have decimated and destroyed black American families and their communities. Astonishingly and regretfully, the overwhelming majority of black Americans continue to vote for the very political party that has destroyed them.
... where so many get it wrong and blame the black people themselves.

You have to admit though, there's plenty of blame ta go around.

When the folks you have representing you, like jesse, an Al not so Sharpton (I plagiarized that from aboutime I think ), sheila and the up an comers like quannel x, are blatantly using the poor black community, for their own ends, by promoting racism to line their pockets, while not givin a hoot about the very people they pretend to represent and you don't recognize it after all these years??? Somethings wrong with the black community itself!!!

Nevertheless he's still a musical legend and has a valid point.

What were you trying to say?

How is Ted is music legend for putting out one great album?
There are a lot of good guitar players who have been playing since the late 60's/early 70's. Look at Robin Trower. A great guitarist who still puts out good stuff.
Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one. It's the music that counts most.

If you want a good read, check out the Nuge's book, Ted, White, and Blue. He pulls no punches and tells it like it is with regard to this country, how it's going to hell in a handbasket, and what needs to be done to repair the damage done by the Progressive Liberals over the past 50 years.

In typical Leftist fashion, your contribution to this thread was to bring up a totally irrelevant point in an attempt to derail it from the discussion at hand.

As usual, an epic fail on your part.

Because it was a double album and you could clean the seeds out with it? That made it legendary to me.

There are hucksters and shysters everywhere and in every culture but the question pertains to the root cause; Sharpton and Jackson would have nowhere to go if there weren't a bunch of liberals in government who weren't ready and willing to step-to-it when their phone rings. The major problem to me is that the black community was still reeling, though making progress, from Jim Crow, etc. when they were knee-capped by the War on Poverty. They never had a chance after that.

4 albums that went platinum and 2 that went gold. He was a legend in the 70's and his music endured over the years. You state this other guitarist is great, and still puts out good stuff - implying that Nugent does not. Then in the next breath you say opinions are like assholes. And an Fyi, Trower never had any platinum albums. :)

I can't comment as to how good he is, as I never heard of him either, had to look it up. He must be good, with like 4 gold albums, but not exactly a household name. That's what makes Nugent a legend, over 10 years and a handful of albums, he made himself a household name, one that still exists today.

You don't know who robin trower is? He's only one of the most famous guitarists ever. He was the lead guitarist in Procul Harum.

I knew who Trower was . I was making a point to gabby about Nugent's fame and why he is so well known.

Top five in my opinion are in order-- Jimmy Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Jeff Beck..

I doubt if Trower rates in the top 40.. -Tyr

Uncle Teddy still performs, does a lot of good work (charity and the like) and when you have as good a stuff as he put out PLUS the stuff while performing in other bands, you have to agree that the guy is (IS) one of the best. I believe he is spot on with much of his views (even hunting views that many are not personally in total agreement with....such as baiting and Sunday hunts). I don't personally like the guy (BLOWHARD) but he is spot on on much of what he says and believe it or not.....the guy learned to shoot without ever joining up OR being brought up in the South. WOW....go figure that!

Hard ta top BB and Lucille!!!

Which reminds me of an old story.

This big ole gal was a huge BB king fan and BB was comin to town.
She was all worked up and she got tickets for the show, but she thought she needed to do somethin special for ole BB
So she had a big B tattooed, one on each butt cheek.
The night of the show comes and this big butted ole gal had prime seats, right in front
At the end of "The Thrill is Gone" this big butted ole gal decided ta moon ole BB and show him what a huge fan she was
BB looked down from the stage an asked her who Bob was???

I know that Hendrix was extremely influential with possibly every guitarist since his time, and he was revolutionary... but I just never cared for his voice. I read a while back that he never wanted to sing and he didn't think he had a good voice, but people talked him into singing anyway. Can't argue with his success. I've always wondered at how great he would have been if he had not been constantly smashed out of his mind on drugs.

Oh yeah! Slash is better. Well... maybe not Richards. Those guys were good, and Roy Clark was a master for sure.

Nay! I'll give you Clapton and Richards, but Slash is 3rd.

Put a couple of brewskis down me and he rapidly shoots to #1!

I am including only musical ability in my evaluation of guitarists. Obviously Ted himself recognizes the fact that he hasn't put out any good music lately. In a setlist from August, Ted played 14 songs. Two were covers. Of the remaining dozen songs, only "Fred Bear" wasn't from his first two albums.
Ted is widely known, but for reasons other than his guitar playing. I love his first album. It's one of the greatest rock debuts ever. But he has never bothered to update himself.

There is no doubt in my mind that Jimi Hendrix is the greatest guitar player of all time. Pete Townsend and Eric Clapton once saw Hendrix in a London club. After which, Townsend told Clapton "I think we're both out of a job."
My dad loved Rory Gallagher and saw him several times. I would find it difficult to rank the best, but my list would definitely include Duane Allman, Bill Nelson, Phil Manzanera, David Gilmour, Uli Jon Roth, Tony Iommi and Nils Lofgren.
