Which is kinda what you wrote in another post, prior to me moving it to the cage. Are you really going to push this? We both have been there before, we both know how it ends. I had taken the time to actually participate to this thread, finished typing and hit CLICK to see that the thread had been canceled. I had to re-write the thing and saw that a comment had caused every bit of it.

It had various layers to its plotlines - simply put, though, it was about 'The Village', a pocket society artificially contrived, run by an unknown power, that imprisoned spies and other such people within a totalitarian, '1984' type social system in order to learn all their secrets (it had a Socialist flavour to it: think as we do, do what we want, & you'll be OK. Be an individual instead, with your own mind, and God help you ..).

A favourite quote comes from one of the Village mottos .. 'Questions are a burden to others - answers a prison for oneself'.

I believe I've seen a modern version of this...not sure but it no longer airs at all (from any period). Unless you have Netflix (ROKU) or some other such device, you can't watch it. I love my ROKU.

I'm sure you have .. with Jim Caviezel playing the part of No 6 ? It was aired over here, a couple of years ago.

It was quite good (though with a radically different ending to it). I did prefer the McGoohan version, though. McGoohan's one saw No 6 triumph and ultimately destroy The Village, a victory of the indomitable spirit of the individual over Socialist-style totalitarianism.

[It got just a bit too surreal towards the end. Still good, though]
