If THEY (the so-called Republicans) don't CHANGE their ways and actually DO something to fix the border and other MAJOR problems, they can probably kiss their chance of taking the White House. Of course, they will blame their failure to take the White House on B.O. vetoing everything they try to fix..........(IF) they actually try to fix anything. They had their chance when Bush was in office and they did NOTHING but leave us without security on the border while our military lost life and limb securing other borders/MZ. Let us hope that (IF) the suspect that B.O. will veto just about everything that they will go after B.O. and Holder with everything they have.............................unless this would also cause them to lose the Senate AND the White House in 2016. What to do.....what to do...

When in doubt, just DO THE RIGHT THING. Regardless of consequence. Period!

BEST THING ABOUT TONIGHT ..... HARRY REID WAS FIRED!

:towel:

Worst thing about tonight is Dems have spent years screwing stuff up, Obama has destroyed this country but with the great American intellect if things aren't better in 2 years it will be the republicans fault now and idiots will vote Dem, they will have forgotten all about the last 6 years.

If I could manage it on this PC (... not my regular one ...) .. I'd post several 'handclap' smilies round about now. If I understand American politics sufficiently well, you now have a situation where any more Obama Leftie poison he wants to mete out, will be stymied before it can be enacted ?

Something of a 'holding' position, preceding - I hope - a forthcoming Republican victory ?

I don't take the line that a Republican victory comes near to a politically perfect solution to America's ills. But, surely, it's way better than having another Dem victory ?!? And if the Republicans can, in the interim, prove their usefulness by neutralising Obama's wrecking agenda ... then a brighter future is surely within reach ?

-- Here's hoping !! In the meantime .... CONGRATULATIONS on your good fortune !

The Republicans will be fine. As long as they act like they won and not like they're still the minority party that is.

Didn't see any reports.

It's possible that the early uncovering of "calibration" errors giving votes to democrats scared off the other accomplices in other areas. People were looking for it at the booth.

You didn't hear that from me.

But you do have to admit that the reports from early voting and machines defaulting democrat were suspicious. IMO those "errors" were deliberate, and when the news broke the rest of the ring aborted.

And NT, why has Alaska not been called yet? It looks like Sullivan is far enough ahead

EDIT:

Ah.

Sullivan led (http://www.adn.com/article/20141104/sullivan-lead-holds-alaska-us-senate-race-begich-wont-concede) Begich 49 percent to 45 percent Tuesday night with all of Alaska's precincts reporting, but the Associated Press (http://hosted2.ap.org/AKKEN/00873362e3ae4101a4238b054d709f4d/Article_2014-11-05-AK--Alaska%20Election-US%20Senate/id-c208c22b0c044607b2352ece9fdf0681) has not called the race. And it appears that it'll take at least a week for outstanding ballots to be counted.
Election officials said they would count 24,000 early and absentee ballots on Nov. 11, in addition to 14,000 other requested absentee ballots if they are returned within the next two weeks, according to the AP.

Well, in fairness, when Begich squeaked in back in '08, at the end of election night he was trailing behind Ted Stevens (who had just been convicted in D.C. in Federal Court), and he was about 3,000 votes behind. Then the votes came trickling in from the villages and the absentee ballots and he won... barely.

Then Stevens' conviction was overturned and dismissed for prosecution misconduct right after Begich was declared the winner. It stunk to high heaven, the whole thing was a sham and timed to coincide with the election. Of course, no one knew all of this during the election, otherwise he would have easily won the race.

Anyway, right now Sullivan is ahead by 8,000 votes and Begich refuses to concede because he's hoping for a last minute win like last time.

The difference is that there isn't a cloud of doubt over a federal conviction this time and there's no way he's going to get the votes needed.

People are too giddy. The challenge will be to limit GOP losses in the Senate to four to retain control, assuming a Republican VP. I hope they are already recruiting quality candidates in NV and CO.

Of course you idiot. But if have you had any clue as to the AK race, which a hint of research would lead you to, then you would know that last time Begich was behind by 3,000 votes and ended up winning by 4,000 so it's not out of reach in theory. Of course in reality this time around isn't the same as NT pointed out... as we are all wishing for a conservative victory don't ya know.

Tis true. Some think the hard work is over, it's just begun. And our 2010 gains means we have more Senate seats to defend in 2016

Regardless of FJ's reasons, I don't wish for Conservative victories, or anything else. Like my Mom used to say, "Wish in one hand and shit in the other, then see which fills up first." Socialists WISH for success, Conservatives WORK for success. Speaking of such, I noticed defeating Muslim extremists is important to you. What have you done to WORK towards that end? Just asking.
