The sad part is there are many, many more like that cop and some even far worse.
Long ago I had a friend beaten half to death by a cop while in the jail cell late at night.
His offense was he asked the cop why he hadn't been allowed to make a phone call since his arrest had been about 12 hours earlier.
Cop told him to shut the ffkk up and he replied--FU TO THE COP. THAT GOT HIM SEVERELY BEATEN AND THE COP REWROTE THE ARREST REPORT TO SHOW HE HAD RESISTED ARREST AND A FIGHT HAD OCCURRED..
True story, this dude had no reason to lie to me and his neighbor(a witness to the arrest) told me Danny had submitted to the arrest without so much as even a shouting match. Then the neighbor asked me this, how did he fight the cop while his hands were cuffed behind his back and he was in the back set of the squad car? Then stated, I saw that much before he was driven away.

Most people haven't a clue just how many truly bad cops there are. I do... --Tyr

Little two-year-old Brooklyn Lynn Lilly wandered from her home, and was gone for 22 hours. Hopes were fading that she would be found in time.

From PennLive 7 November 2014:
----------------------------------------------------
Brooklyn Lynn Lilly wandered off while playing outside her home in Tawas City in the eastern part of the state near Lake Huron. State troopers, deputies and firefighters scoured the area on foot, using ATVs, and in the air, until storms made their search even more cumbersome... Trooper Denis McGuckin and his K-9, Jax, are credited with finding Brooklyn. But when they encountered her, she wasn't moving. Again, they feared the worst...

"She had lifted her head up off the ground and looked back towards me and my dog and began smiling"

"I love the woods"

Well, he probably thought that he might get the first shot in before the officer shot him.

Did I miss something in the article? I don't see where the officer did anything here other than get shot.

And why all the articles in one thread? I saw a relation to the first few, but then the post about the little girl, and then this one. You're welcome to post them all in one place, I'm just curious why you would do so.

All cops aren't bad cops. And some of the bad ones are really bad. And I wouldn't want you to think that I believe that all cops are bad. And about the little girl, it reminds me of another incident a few years back...

Journalist Robynn Tysver wrote for Associated Press 20 January 1997:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Officer Allen Wagner feared the worst as he picked up a coatless, frozen 3-year-old girl found face down in the snow as her twin sister tried to keep her warm on a bitter cold Nebraska morning.

As he raced to his squad car clutching an unconscious Jennifer Woracek, Wagner believed she was close to death.

"There was a certain sound, a breathing sound, that I have heard with people ready to pass on,'' Wagner said Saturday, his voice choked with emotion.

The sisters were hospitalized with severe frostbite and exposure early Friday. Jennifer had her blood drawn, warmed and recirculated through her body.

On Saturday, Jennifer's condition was upgraded from critical to serious and she was on a respirator. She appeared to recognize her parents when she periodically woke up, said Dr. George Reynolds, director of Children's Hospital's pediatric intensive care unit.

"She was as close to dead as she could get,'' Reynolds said.

Her sister, Kourtney, was in stable condition.

The girls got up before sunrise Friday morning and went outside on a playful adventure in 10-below-zero temperature. Their father saw a light on, toys scattered in the living room and an open door.

Police arrived about 40 minutes later and Officer Troy Kister found a tiny footprint in the snow. "It looked to be fresh,'' he said.

A few minutes later, officers found three of their boots and then the girls. Jennifer was face down in the snow. Her sister was kneeling next to her, both were without shoes.

"It was shocking,'' said Kister, holding back tears.

Kister carried Kourtney to the squad car. "She just had that desperate look on her face,'' he said.

The extent of the girls' frostbite and their long-term prognosis remains uncertain.

"We're more concerned about their lower extremities,'' Reynolds said.

Free Hugs

From ABC News 28 November 2014:
--------------------------------------------------------
"I came upon this boy who had tears in his eyes and I knew this was the place to be, so I followed him in the crowd," Nguyen said. "Then he came upon the police officer. They talked and he gave him a hug."

Devonte Hart, 12, was at the demonstration holding a sign that said "free hugs" when Portland Police Sgt. Bret Barnum noticed him, motioned the boy over and the two began talking.

Nguyen said that Barnum pointed to the sign and asked "Do I get one of those?" and they hugged.

For all who seem to hate cops/police officers so much.

Stop using 911 for emergencies from now on.

Instead. Include the phone numbers of your local New Black Panthers if you need help.

Seems there is no question. Those guys are more dangerous to call if you really want results.

A damn lot of us do not hate ALL cops, we hate just the bad ones and the problem is not to many of those but even many of the good ones have too much of an attitude problem.
As in the attitude that every person they approach to question is not only guilty but is scum too.
As in we do not have any right to question what they do or say, especially since so many of these ffing law defenders haven't a damn clue about the laws they are sworn to uphold or the Constitutional rights of citizens they too often wrongly accost.
As servants of the public paid by our taxes both those kinds of bad cops are far more than a mere annoyance.
They are an intolerable disease that law enforcement fails to deal with and so damn often cover ups and even attacks those that expose it..
And lets not forget the very selective enforcement they practice with friends, family, "special peoples", and elected officials..
And to many of them are as dumb as a damn brick!!!!!!!!!!!! When did the intelligence level to be met to become a cop get lowered to that of barely above moron?
Hint- when they wanted to include special groups in their ranks, such diversity's first victim is always quality and intelligence.
So evident in Europe where multiculturalism has destroyed peace, security and cohesiveness for many decades. -Tyr

Tyr. I believe I understand your reasons for being so negative on this topic, but. I have never been in any position, anywhere I have ever been across this nation. To find police officers who were quite so bad.
Granted. As in most every other profession. There are the known, and unknown "Bad Apples". In fact, many I can remember from the past, were actually students in High School when I was there. But still. In all of my years. I have never presented ANY police officer with any reason to show their bad side.
I must disagree when you insist many of them are as dumb as bricks. How do you know they have lowered the intelligence levels? Seriously. Not trying to argue with you, but at the same time. I do think using such a broad stroke of a brush to identify your obvious hatred for police officers. Just doesn't sit well with me.
Of course. Perhaps you have had some bad circumstances that involved police participation. I suggest, if that is so. It still isn't fair to label them all so negatively.
We often use the word Liberals that way. When the reality is. Not all Liberals are as bad as Obama, or a Nancy Pelosi.
I know you would never Call the NEW BLACK PANTHERS when you need help. But, if you dislike, and don't trust the police so much. Who would you call? :)

My friend, I've never called cops for help--not even once. I handle my own protection and if things need investigating on my property, I get one of my weapons and investigate them.
So to answer you question--I call on me. Besides I am better with a gun than any cop I have ever met, which includes my nephew that was once a cop--as I taught him how to shoot. He left the force because of the corruption, favoritism and attitude of officers he had to work with.
He was ordered by a commanding officer to alter a report to match that of his partner when his partner arrested a girl for DUI that was not driving the vehicle stopped. The officer got mad at the girl and arrested her for driving drunk when the driver was her boyfriend--that was not drunk!
Then Ive had many dealings with cops since my young life wasn't exactly peaceful or boring, I hung around bad places and that included lots of very bad people.. I was doing nothing illegal except gambling (very good at it)... Yet to do that one had to have enough respect from those bad people not to be accosted , beaten or rob .. To get that one had to stomp enough people word got around to be left the hell alone regardless of what I was doing there.
I liked it that way myself--at least back then I did..-Tyr

English, German, Irish , Native American and Viking blood in my veins, no Chinese blood at all.
No kungfu, karate , jujitsu or martial arts either. Just proper raising, and self training. Has stood me well and I am still above ground at age 60 .
Nothing fancy about it, simply getting the job done when it needing being done. No fanfare, no brag..
I am still alive while a great many of my friends and enemies are not. A simple fact..---Tyr
