This is ridicules, the man can't sleep so that means he should lose the right to own a gun. This guy was a police officer, a decorated police detective to be exact but yet because basically he couldn't sleep he loses his guns and his rights to ever own another.

Donald Montgomery, a decorated retired police detective who served in the United States Navy, says in a lawsuit that his pistol permit and four handguns were seized by authorities in New York (http://www.examiner.com/topic/new-york) after he sought medical treatment for insomnia (http://www.examiner.com/topic/insomnia), the Daily Caller (http://dailycaller.com/2015/01/02/veteran-and-former-cop-sues-after-guns-confiscated-because-he-sought-treatment-for-insomnia/) reported Friday. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (http://www.examiner.com/topic/andrew-cuomo), a Democrat who once said conservatives who oppose gun control aren't welcome in his state (http://www.examiner.com/article/n-y-gov-cuomo-extreme-conservative-republicans-not-welcome-state), and several other state officials are named as defendants in the lawsuit (http://www.scribd.com/doc/250931668/Montgomery-v-Cuomo#scribd) filed on December 18.

Yet another reason to call that State New Jerk.

Knee jerk reactions and the loss of one's Constitutional Rights abound in this Nanny State.

Knee jerk reactions and the loss of one's Constitutional Rights abound in this Nanny State.

Which is why God invented the Judiciary.

According to Mongomery's lawsuit, the State of New York violated his Constitutional rights under the Second, Fourth, Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments when it enforced the gun control law known as the SAFE Act — a measure Cuomo signed in January 2013. The lawsuit also says the state has "amassed the confidential, personal health information of tens of thousands of people into a database shared by various State agencies." Worse yet, the lawsuit adds, agencies have "carte blanche access" to the information in that database.

There has to be some consideration what each person has sought mental health for, not being able to sleep is hardly something that would make me think Mass murderer. It's kind of like people that go on the sex offenders list, some are for lousy reasons ( and I know a guy that this happen to ) He came out of a Bar and had to walk where he had parked at almost 3 am , once there and no one was around he urinated but a cop happen to come around the corner and cited him for it, Wound up there was a school within so many feet so he became a sex offender, that isn't realistic, we have to look at each case.

Any excuse to take away guns will do for the Nazi jackbooted bastards =libs/dems...
How long before most true Americans wake up to what the Dem party truly is now??
It is a filthy curse upon this nation and should be destroyed if we are to survive.. A fact..
That's why it allied with the filthy muslims , America hating muslims... --birds of a feather flock together.. Tyr

Aren't you glad you voted for Big Government, that can have access to all your private information and use it against you in ways no sensible person would?

People keep forgetting that government can't create anything, can't improve anything. All government can do, is punish people, restrict them, fine them, and take resources away from them for purposes they wouldn't have spent that money on themselves. For that reason, the Framers restricted government to only a few functions, that private people r groups could not do at all - National Defense, foreign relations, setting weights and measure, coining money etc.

But Big Government advocates think they are smarter than the Framers, and think it would be a good idea to let government into every facet of our lives. And so you get government restricting, punishing, and violating the rights of people who they should never come close to.

You voted for it. Now you can lie in it.

My rants are dead on, you just reject truth and love to play along to get along.
I am not that obliging, docile and/or gullible..
I have always been a magnet for trouble. I seem to find it , oppose it and fight it with
a comfort others find offensive..
I was born , raised and built to fight.. I ain't achangin' Hoss.
The murdering muslim scum had better fear me if they ever face me..
I have more fight in me than any hundred of the ffing scum.. A damn solid gold fact..
Don't ever doubt it.. -Tyr
