Capt. Sully ain't the only one to say "we are gonna be in the Hudson". This is some of the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Sturgeon Bay, taking a break on the ice. While there, three of the members were awarded their temporary Cutterman's pin and two FA's were advanced to FN's.

Oh yeah, the ice was reported as 15 feet thick, so it was a pretty safe "ice liberty" (lol)

I agree with that wow. Was this in Manhattan, I wonder. I know it's been REAL cold lately, but I didn't think cold enough to make it 15 feet thick! The river does go far north too.

The Cutter Wire ( WYTL) is near Poughkeepsie right now, she draws less than the Sturgeon bay.

I would have loved to run one of those.

So what if it is single screw? The old 30 footers were as well.
