I saw this linked from another forum I was reading. If you have a cell phone, and you use gmail, or I think even Google maps, you must check this out.

So I've been using both since I got my Galaxy S5 last year. Hell, may have been the same with my prior phone. So this other forum mentioned "Google Location History" and offered this link. And don't worry, it's harmless. You need to be logged into Gmail in order for this to work anyway.

https://maps.google.com/locationhistory/b/0/

I was like WTF? Click on ANY date. It will show you where you were that entire day, every location, every stop you made. I clicked on Christmas eve and it showed my entire trip to NJ, when I went to 7-11, the route I took - EVERYTHING. I never knew about this. It is SO accurate that it even shows if I move around the house at various times. I don't know how often it checks. I don't know 100% for sure what it is on these phones that does this, but I'm thinking it's Google's GPS function, which I do have activated for many apps I use. But still. This can SO EASILY be used for folks to spy on others.

People are afraid of the government. It's Google you should be worried about! Damn, this still blows my mind.

I checked, and I have no location history. In some cases, it may be a good thing. Suppose you went missing...

Do you use Google maps for navigation? I wonder if that's where it's getting mine from (even though I now have a good Garmin in my truck). I also use Gmail. My phone is also Android. I also use a bunch of Google apps. Time to troubleshoot, one by one.

The only time I have GPS turned on is when I'm navigating, then I turn it back off. Not just for privacy, but for battery longevity as well - GPS really kills your battery.

Also, I don't have my phone linked to any google account.

You could still track me by serving AT&T a warrant, though. Not as accurately as GPS, but it still would show what sites I'm being served from as I travel, and they could triangulate in if they wanted to.

Does it show anything for you? Do you use any Google products on your phone? Shit, is it just me? Have I been targeted by the big G? I hope maybe they see my extensive porn collection, realize how internet savvy I am, and perhaps gimme a job. :)

My bad, it was Christmas day. At any rate, here's what I see when I click on the calendar for that day. You can also click on the red thingies after that to get more time information and such.

I'm not to worried about Google. You're just bits in a server to them. But I checked mine because I have an S3 and I think it's logged in to gmail but it didn't show any location history. Maybe I have something turned off because I like using my Google maps. :)

You guys may think I am crazy. But I got rid of my cell phone 2 years ago. For this very reason. I googled my name one day, and lo and behold, there I was online standing in my front yard with my address available. That scared the hell out of me. So I canceled my cell phone service

That is creepy. But remember according to liberals privacy means the "right" to have an abortion.

Whether or not Google keeps such data may be, I suggest, ultimately beside the real point. What if Government agencies have, or can get, sanction to obtain what's held by Google ?

Even if they can't, it may only be a matter of time before such powers are granted to them. Besides, do you know for sure that agencies don't hack the data, and in 'real time' ?

Here in the UK, the Government's 'right' to obtain records of all online activity UK citizens engage in, has been debated for years. One argument offered was that the Government would have to go to private businesses and get them to hand their records over to them. Since then .. it's been pretty much established that our GCHQ complex (Government Communications Headquarters, known colloquially as 'The Doughnut') could handle it all themselves if they wanted to.

I'm not sure that I find it credible to believe that the US Government doesn't have (or cannot create) an equivalent to GCHQ, for themselves. What does Langley get up to ?

NOTE TO EVERYONE WHO USES ANY ELECTRONIC, MOBILE DEVICE.

You must always remember. Using such items instantly REMOVES any privacy you THOUGHT you had.

The Government, state, local, and Federal has total access to your cell phone. Whether you like it or not.

They (govt) has the capability to locate, and follow every move you make using those CELL TOWERS positioned everywhere you go in this nation. UNLESS you always travel in Uncovered area's...PRIVACY is a joke.

Don't forget. GPS is installed in most all phones. So, if they want to find you. YOU WILL BE FOUND.

ANYONE EVER READ THE BOOK...."1984"????

The body of a Burlington County woman missing since New Year's Day was discovered by police Tuesday in rural Maryland, according to the county prosecutor's office. Erica Crippen, 26, of Mount Laurel, was found wrapped in a blanket underneath a pile of tree branches in a wooded area off of Old Frederick Road in Sykesville in Carroll County Maryland. Prosecutors say an electrical extension cord had been wrapped around her neck several times and then tied around her hands and feet, binding her.

...Crosby had been driving Crippen's red Ford Taurus at the time and prosecutors had said several items were found in the trunk of the vehicle that have "evidential value in her disappearance." It was announced today that among those items was a Garmin GPS device that authorities were able to track to several locations along Old Frederick Road.

I never say anything in private about the stinking government that I do not openly say or type here. When/if they start rounding people up--shooting them they'll not need real cause or real justification based upon any legal code we currently have. The whole process will be to usurp the Constitution and eliminate any and all true patriots! That's a damn fact and its in the works. Nobody knows when they'll pull the trigger on that and start --so ffk them!
I aint gonna live forever , so tis' best to go out the way I want. I'll be nobody's damn slave and will defend myself and my family to prove it.
I am sure the ffing scum have had my name on their list for well over a decade, so ffk the slimy , cowardly bastards!

All the dots near one another above that, near the water, was traffic after coming over the damn GWB. I think the one you refer to is where I got onto the NJ Turnpike.

And everyone knows the best strip clubs are in NYC! :)
