You know, while I did not and do not agree with the Bradys, the positions for which they and their foundation fought so strongly, I can respect their desire to make changes that would prevent the tragedy which befell them from happening to others. I see their efforts and initiatives as misguided overall, but heartfelt and rooted in a belief that they are doing good.
That you would choose to symbolically celebrate the passing of Sarah Brady with these happy, dancing emoticons, I find this borderline disgusting and certainly un-Christian like. That LTG would thank your post is no better.
It is attitudes such as yours that contribute to an uncivil society.
Now, bash away. I have nothing further to contribute to this thread.

.....I thanked TYr`s post for two reasons...he stopped by and made a comment...and yes she was anti-gun...("trying to make changes...prevent tragedy""???)...a true Liberal always using... "its for the children" jargon to push an idiotic agenda which...*increases tragedy......she had her time on earth and passed... RIP....and good riddance...because it helps the living trying to survive Liberal stupidity....Nothing to do with "Christian like"....thats all in the eyes of the beholder...God gave mankind a mind ....`freedom of thought`... to think and protect one-self....in an "uncivil society"....I will thank you for stopping by with your thoughts also...there is no bashing here hjmick...I like you also...

Exactly why should I care about somebody I did not know dying?
The road to Hell is paved with so-called "good intentions"...
She was dead set against the 2ND AMENDMENT so yes I dance and why not?
Should I shed a fake tear?
I have no reason to bash you for how you feel but I also have no reason to mourn her passing.
I am a hard kind of guy. I am as good as gold to my family , friends and those that I know, the others, the raving libs/leftist can rot in Hell as far as this American is concerned!
For I know the ill intent that they have for me and mine.. I give it right back..
I guess Jesus and I will one day have a long talk about it but that is between he and I.
I abide by my own core principles and have no reason to try to live up to other people's.... And I never wear a mask.. --Tyr

:clap::clap::clap::clap:
I wish we had more like her on this side of the Pond.
Here, it's always the same story. Some nutcase or other, most usually using firearms owned illegally, goes on some kind of rampage, killing indiscriminately. Said nutcase is dealt with, and the story starts the 'we must have even tougher gun laws than we already have' argument, in the media, all over again. Comparisons are made with America, America being cited as a country needing to similarly 'clean up its act'.
UK citizens have no Constitutional right to own guns, or to 'bear arms' ... and they don't even understand such a right, or why you'd want to. Consequently, we remain largely defenceless in the face of gun-toting crazies, impotently waiting around for the police to save us ....
It's just another result of Leftie poison. We've had many decades of Left-wing societal tinkering, and we're much the worse for it.

Thousands, upon thousands of people DIE every day. Why am I, or anyone else expected to mourn or feel sad for what are actually total strangers to most of us?
Truth is. When I, or any of us here on DP learn of the death of someone else only we might know. Would that be proper, and expected for all of us to offer our Sorrow, and Sadness for them as well?
Just because we all have places to visit on the Internet at the touch of a key in this modern, Thoroughly MIXED-UP, Confused, Intimidated, Offended, Insulted, Instant Gratification World where all of us are Anonymous, DOES NOT MEAN we must be compelled to offer condolences...just to impress others, or play the appeasement games of not wanting to be accused of being the COLD HEARTED, selfish people we all really are.
Personally. I don't need to be reminded almost daily...that someone has died, been killed, or taken the dirt nap. You see. We simply don't have time to do such things since WE SPEND SO MUCH TIME MINDING OTHER PEOPLE'S BUSINESS Every day. Think about it. Then scold me for telling the truth again. If anyone thinks that I am suggesting anyone mourn or shed a tear for Sarah Brady or anyone else, I would suggest you missed the point of my post.
Some of you say things like, "why should I care about someone I did not know?" I ask you, if this is the case, why should you celebrate their passing?
I was no fan of the Brady's position on guns, I celebrated every defeat their foundation suffered. I am not in mourning over the passing of Mrs. Brady, but neither do I celebrate her passing. She was someone's child, someone's spouse, someone's parent.
Ultimately I guess I see it as an case of, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.

`...The reason why I don't have a problem mocking her passing is that her motivation was hypocritical and ill directed..........
***
.........It's like this: She has blood on her hands. Lets get this straight.........
James Brady was a press secretary and she was his wife........
She probably has no opinion on guns whatsoever...............
Then the shooting happened.....
.....Suddenly....she decides due to the illogic stemming from her grief at the situation to focus her wrath on an inanimate object. A criminal shot her husband, so now its her mission in life to make sure no one can have a gun if at all possible.
***And before the IBC happened, there were waiting periods. Waiting periods that got people killed. A girlfriend files a restraining order against a newly ex who turns violent and promises hes gonna get her regardless the consequences.
EX GF decides to arm herself. And is then told, sorry, you have to wait.
EX BF breaks in that night and kills her.
`Sarah Brady got people killed. And she robbed all of us of a lot of money in inflated prices backing the `AWB` and `magazine limits` and the games we had to play to get a decent shooting setup that wouldn't leave us short of ammo had any of us ever been unfortunate enough to be involved in a gun fight. Plenty of people have been killed defending when they ran out of ammo.`
*And making people run out of ammo was this ****'s mission in life.
Irony on top of irony....the things she fought to instill and managed to help get passed.... had it been in effect at the time of the assassination attempt….would not have stopped the perp as he configured his plot and obtained his weapon. It would have been completely ineffective.
***
`And further ironic.... nay...hypocritical.. she even broke some law in later years having to do with obtaining a hunting rifle for one of her kids getting it out of state without following the same procedure us mere mortals would have had to follow. But she wasn't prosecuted. Because laws only apply to little people.
But no matter. Someone felt better about themselves. This idiots personal grief had to be taken out on all of us at great cost.`
May Sarah Brady be doing the backstroke in the pit of molten sulphur with Uncle Joe and Adolf...`

How the Nazis Used Gun Control
A tool for evil.
The perennial gun-control debate in America did not begin here. The same arguments for and against were made in the 1920s in the chaos of Germany’s Weimar Republic, which opted for gun registration. Law-abiding persons complied with the law, but the Communists and Nazis committing acts of political violence did not. In 1931, Weimar authorities discovered plans for a Nazi takeover in which Jews would be denied food and persons refusing to surrender their guns within 24 hours would be executed. They were written by Werner Best, a future Gestapo official.
In reaction to such threats, the government authorized the registration of all firearms and the confiscation thereof, if required for “public safety.” The interior minister warned that the records must not fall into the hands of any extremist group. In 1933, the ultimate extremist group, led by Adolf Hitler, seized power and used the records to identify, disarm, and attack political opponents and Jews. Constitutional rights were suspended, and mass searches for and seizures of guns and dissident publications ensued. Police revoked gun licenses of Social Democrats and others who were not “politically reliable.” During the five years of repression that followed, society was “cleansed” by the National Socialist regime. Undesirables were placed in camps where labor made them “free,” and normal rights of citizenship were taken from Jews. The Gestapo banned independent gun clubs and arrested their leaders. Gestapo counsel Werner Best issued a directive to the police forbidding issuance of firearm permits to Jews.
In 1938, Hitler signed a new Gun Control Act. Now that many “enemies of the state” had been removed from society, some restrictions could be slightly liberalized, especially for Nazi Party members. But Jews were prohibited from working in the firearms industry, and .22 caliber hollow-point ammunition was banned. The time had come to launch a decisive blow to the Jewish community, to render it defenseless so that its “ill-gotten” property could be redistributed as an entitlement to the German “Volk.” The German Jews were ordered to surrender all their weapons, and the police had the records on all who had registered them. Even those who gave up their weapons voluntarily were turned over to the Gestapo. This took place in the weeks before what became known as the Night of the Broken Glass, or Kristallnacht, occurred in November 1938. That the Jews were disarmed before it, minimizing any risk of resistance, is the strongest evidence that the pogrom was planned in advance. An incident was needed to justify unleashing the attack. That incident would be the shooting of a German diplomat in Paris by a teenage Polish Jew. Hitler directed propaganda minister Josef Goebbels to orchestrate the Night of the Broken Glass. This massive operation, allegedly conducted as a search for weapons, entailed the ransacking of homes and businesses, and the arson of synagogues. SS chief Heinrich Himmler decreed that 20 years be served in a concentration camp by any Jew possessing a firearm. Rusty revolvers and bayonets from the Great War were confiscated from Jewish veterans who had served with distinction. Twenty thousand Jewish men were thrown into concentration camps, and had to pay ransoms to get released.
The U.S. media covered the above events. And when France fell to Nazi invasion in 1940, the New York Times reported that the French were deprived of rights such as free speech and firearm possession just as the Germans had been. Frenchmen who failed to surrender their firearms within 24 hours were subject to the death penalty. No wonder that in 1941, just days before the Pearl Harbor attack, Congress reaffirmed Second Amendment rights and prohibited gun registration. In 1968, bills to register guns were debated, with opponents recalling the Nazi experience and supporters denying that the Nazis ever used registration records to confiscate guns. The bills were defeated, as every such proposal has been ever since, including recent “universal background check” bills. As in Weimar Germany, some well-meaning people today advocate severe restrictions, including bans and registration, on gun ownership by law-abiding persons. Such proponents are in no sense “Nazis,” any more than were the Weimar officials who promoted similar restrictions. And it would be a travesty to compare today’s situation to the horrors of Nazi Germany. Still, as history teaches, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Although I do understand all sides here it is my opinion that there is no need to celebrate ones death, whether they are friend or foe death is final and although it is true her death will no way change my day today it will change her kids and other loved ones.To me honestly even though I disagreed with just about everything ( if not everything )she believed in it is just as easy for me to say I hope she R.I.P. and go about my business. Let's face it we are all going to kick the bucket one day and hopefully we will have some loved ones that will be upset the day we do, so I guess what I am saying is we are showing the survivors a little respect and our celebration will come when we no longer have to deal with this person.

Jeff, I'm not going to take it to the level of wishing my enemy RIP but out of respect for the family, I'm not going to celebrate their loved one's passing either except to stress how our fight for our rights just improved with their passing. Make no bones about it, I am glad she is gone because I do see her and the ilk who are still fighting to ban our ability to secure our families, friends and Nation with unlawful laws that go against our LAW of LAWS. I'll not dance on their graves but I'll not say anything favorable about them either.
B.O. or B.O.'s slouchy, slumpy wife isn't dead so I'll say whatever I want in justified disrespect and disdain regarding those two birds. I'll say whatever I want with no regrets about my enemies and the enemies who voted for B.O. either. If you are stupid or blind, I may give you a pass but if you voted for B.O. with full understanding of what he plans to do and is doing to America, YOU ARE MY ENEMY AND DESERVE NO RESPECT FROM ME.
I would have loved for B.O. to see B.O. pull a Gerald Ford; except I was longing for results such as a twisted ankle. Of course, I would have been exceptionally pleased with that big-eared galoot breaking his freakin' neck the other day. Likewise, I would have cheered to have seen B.O.'s wife get scuffed up as she tripped and almost tackled the poor lil' Japanese Emperor. The Emperor and his wife looked so proper and B.O.'s man-thing looked so....well....trashy and awkward. Yeah, I don't wish well thoughts to MY enemies and, make no mistake, THEY are certainly my enemy and any other American who wishes only to be left alone and able to defend their freedoms, prosperity and family.
Would anyone help someone on the side of the road who has a B.O. sticker? My answer: I'd at least ask then what they thought of B.O. and how they could have aided in the destruction of this Nation......the rest would depend on their answer and reaction to my take on that SOB.
Did I vote for Bush? Yes. Was I happy about it? rarely. Did I have a choice? NO (look at what the alternative was.....BOTH times). Did Bush disappoint? YES, often. Was he anywhere near the destructive force that B.O. (IS)? NO. Did I vote for Mittens? Yes.....u get the picture.
Bottom line: Screw 'em. Let their kind help their kind and America loving Americans will, likewise, take care of our kind. That goes for liberal States such as CA robbing from successful States (most of the time Conservative States). We should not continually pay for their misconduct or liberal, anti-American ways.
You want respect? Give respect OR, better yet......leave me the 773# alone when it comes to my right to worship, defend and prosper.
:salute:
Or Teddy Kennedy. Also, I hope to outlive Hillary.
I agree, and if I remember correctly when Ted passed I wasn't upset at all, I felt he was a criminal but at the same time he is gone and will answer for his sins to a much higher source than me. At this point in my life ( I honestly can't remember my feelings when Ted passed ) I king of feel when someone is gone they can't hurt us any longer and yes they will be answering for their misdeeds, so I wish them luck in their journey.

I agree. When Teddy died, I wasn't 'broken up,' but definitely felt a RIP in order. It's God's place to judge the dead.
While they are living? We all have a right to the first amendment. ;)

I don't want to be a hypocrite, but there is a difference....
I have in fact celebrated deaths before - Osama, Saddam, terrorists in general, VERY bad people, a lot of criminals getting their "penalty" in horrendous crimes. I know I should leave it to their maker, but I can't help but be relieved and celebrate just a tad when horrible people leave this earth,
But I don't think this woman qualifies. She MAY qualify if we're solely discussing politics. On the 2nd, I think she's a horrible and horribly misguided woman. When I thought of her I would have a scowl on my face, and perhaps hoped she would fall down the stairs. But she, to me, is like any other idiot politician. I won't lose any sleep, I won't even have anything nice to say. I'll just say "RIP" and move on with my life as if she never existed.

However, while they're alive it's the Christian's duty to as one of my favorite hymns says "Throw Out The Lifeline".

I hear ya tf , but in my opinion I felt anyone and everyone deserve's some type of respect when they leave this earth, well let me re say that, anyone that is even half normal, child molesters , terrorist and the likes those I don't even think of.
After reading Jim's post about ( and remembering when Ted died ) I didn't want to be a hypocrite, see a few short years ago I didn't just put a dancing cartoon on a post I was truly happy when a piece of trash died, but as life goes on I am learning to be a better person and these folks that aren't even half normal are now just not thought of ( because I know they are now answering for their misjudgement here on earth )
See I was sitting in church one day and the preacher said we need to forgive the terrorist that killed all those on 9/11, well this infuriated me and as I walked to the doorway and the preacher was standing saying his goodbys to everyone ( as he does every Sunday ) he smiled as I walked up and said yes I know I have some explaining to do ( yes when I would hear him say something that I disagreed with or didn't understand I would question him, that is how I learn ) so he explained to me like this, He said you know you and I are on the same page on child molesters ( kill em all and let God deal with them ) well that would be nice, unfortunately it isn't the law. But he said I think we both would agree that if the law of the land said execute them both you and I would be fighting to do the job, I agreed, but that isn't the law of the land so we let the justice system do what it does, and then he hit a cord with me, he said now do you dwell on each case ? I answered no, and he explained if I did it would of eaten me up and killed me already, and what good would that do in battling this crime. He said think about it, you can go on letting the hate you have for those terrorist eat you up but it doesn't hurt them at all, so forgive them ( not forget but forgive ) because they are now paying the price in such a way that there is no way we could of punished them anywhere near it on earth and to go on hating will only hurt me, and with all this pent up hate in the heart then the heart doesn't have room for love. And we all now how good love makes us feel, so if you fill your heart with it life is that much better.
Yes I have a long way to go, but a couple of you knew me not to awful long ago and I am sure y'all have seen a difference.

Sure thing with that tailfins. Throw out the Lifeline to those who hate us. But, there's nothing wrong with NOT holding on to the Other End either when we have to decide to kill, or be killed.

Do you really not know who the lifeline is?
Lyrics from the song in the video:
Jesus is able! To you who are driv’n,
Farther and farther from God and from Heav’n;
Helpless and hopeless, o’erwhelmed by the wave;
We throw out the life line, ’tis <q style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium; text-align: justify; white-space: nowrap;">Jesus can save.</q>
This is the life line, oh, grasp it today!
See, you are recklessly drifting away;
Voices in warning, shout over the wave,
O grasp the strong life line, for Jesus can save.
Matthew 8
25And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
(http://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-8-25/)26And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. (http://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-8-26/)
