When I worked ER, one day I had to start an IV on a male patient. I was all busy getting the IV in when he said

"I'll bet you were really something back in your day!"

Hmmmm.

Also while I worked in ER, an older, lovely Physician's Assistant was told by a patient

"Wow. You are almost beautiful!"

Does anyone want to share any backhanded compliments you have received?

There's a really old backhanded compliment (slur) many dislike hearing.

When all else fails in an argument with some people who must ALWAYS be right, just use this one:

"Are Your Parents aware that you, as their only child, survived the abortion?"
