The UK's GDP growth figure for Quarter 1, 2015, runs at 0.3%. Comparatively speaking, it's rather better than the figure you reported. But, the growth rate has ALSO slowed for us (though this may just be a 'blip' ... the trend is for higher growth).

http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/rel/gva/gross-domestic-product--preliminary-estimate/q1-2015/stb-gdp-preliminary-estimate--q1-2015.html

Now, in 'FjWorld', the UK has done the wrong thing in instituting Austerity measures, designed to reduce our whopping great National Debt (.. made so much worse by our Socialists, in the run-up to our 2010 election). In 'FjWorld', the UK was destined to go down the pan in a manner that would be reminiscent of Greece, because our Conservatives instituted Austerity measures.

FJ has been most unhappy about Conservative policy in my part of the world.

Perhaps the 'FjWorld' worldview is likely to see your far poorer GDP figure as evidence of a greater likelihood of the US going the route of Greece .. ?

Perhaps FJ can point to the Austerity measures Barack Obama has instituted, to bring this state of affairs about ?

It's nice living rent free in your head. There's so much room in there.

Uh, he did not cut taxes and he did impose huge new regulatory burdens. AKA not conservative stuff. Thank goodness your conservatives cut taxes; It's a shame you didn't agree with that move.
