This thread is for good songs that were produced by a group years after they broke up and quit making music.

McCartney filed suit for the dissolution of the Beatles' contractual partnership on 31 December 1970. 25 years later this song was released as a single.

1n 1983, The Doobie Brothers called it quits. They reunited five years later. In 1989 they released this top ten hit:

I saw a combined concert in Cincinnati featuring Chicago and The Doobie Brothers. It was simply awesome.

The duo Eurythmics achieved significant success in the 1980's, especially with Sweet Dreams (are made of this). The duo separated in 1989, reunited in 1999, and released this hit song:

The Animals were a British Band who became world-wide famous in the 1960's. They disbanded in the late 60's, but reunited in 1983 and rediscovered the original Animals sound with this (geez, I love this song):

Simon and Garfunkel were one of the most popular groups of the 1960's, producing some all-time classic hits, such as Mrs. Robinson, Bridge Over Troubled Water, and others. Their rocky relationship led to their breakup in 1970. They tried again in 1975 and produced this gem. It reached #9 on the charts.
