I have been watching NatGeo documentaries all afternoon about the Titanic. The story of that tragedy has been a long time interest of mine, Even more interesting was the hour devoted to Ballard's first successful expedition wherein he discusses his investigation into two other disasters. He was a commissioned Navy officer and was given the secret clearances and mission to investigate the Thresher and the Scorpion sites. I recall hearing that at the time the info first became public but I really was fascinated by the detail this hour of TV was able to delve into.
