Why not?

As long as we are pretending "marriage" means something other than what it means, why not extend it further?

Once you throw out the actual definition, you have no standards by which to define it. What excuse can you come up with to stop at any particular point?

Actually, a few more societies in history have defined "marriage" as between a man and multiple wives, than have defined it as between two men or two women.

The race to the bottom has started.

Polygamous Montana trio applies for wedding license

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — A Montana man has applied for a marriage license so he can legally wed his second wife.

Nathan Collier of Billings said Wednesday that last week's U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing gay marriage inspired him to try to force the acceptance of polygamous marriages.

He says he'll sue the state if his application is rejected.

Collier says Yellowstone County Courthouse officials initially denied the application Tuesday. When he told officials he planned to sue, they said they would consult with the county attorney before giving him a final answer.

Now, notice where it says two OR MORE elements? Yeah, that. Sorry, but this whole idea that marriage has somehow only every been between one man and one woman is willfully ignorant, and incorrect. For evidence, Lot and Noah.

This is more GREAT NEWS for America. Now I am wondering when our Female members of SCOTUS will announce their wedding plans for the other SIX male members. Which will become a HISTORIC, and Monumental SHIFT in the Destruction of AMERICA....AT LAST???

If it were always 'normal', then where were the marches and everything else for equality in every state?

I/we called this one a long time ago. It was all about 2 people sharing their love. Now it will be about someone breaking up their love into however many pieces they like. After that one, only a matter of time before there will be arguments for distant cousins or even direct relatives. Who are we to judge another persons love? Maybe other cultures, other times - but we aren't other cultures and these aren't other times. Fwiw, other cultures commonly practice the sword removal of ones head in public as punishment. Death for leaving a religion. Suffice to say, no need to bring other cultures around or go back in time.
