What do you say? Is it good? Is it bad? Neither? Both? Do you think we could reach some sort of consensus by discussing it's pros and cons?

If you mean us to judge the photo specifically, I'm not sure I recognise it as pornographic. No pornographic acts are depicted, and no revealing of 'pornographic bits & pieces' (.. if you get my drift) has occurred.:boobies:

There are statues in museums and galleries which can earn the title 'pornographic' more than this photo does.

No, I didn't mean the picture. I just added it to make the threat more eye catchy and you felt for it.

That would be --("thread" not "threat")and ("fell" not "felt"), that is unless,

you have just revealed underlying thinking, and/or , your subconscious thought at work! ;)

Next time perhaps, get a pic of a gal with a dark tan , bigger boobs and cuter backside.
We lustful guys appreciate sexier women... Being deeply visual creatures, or as some ladies say,
savage "club toting cavemen".---Tyr

Umm, Tyr. Graphic photos, porn or not, are not allowed here. Jim has had a problem with ads/host due to that. Thanks.

As I understand it, porn is material intended to stimulate a sexual interest. IMHO it can be either good or bad. As a fantasy adjunct to one's sexual activity it can be very useful for keeping things interesting. One of the reasons women love sexy novels is that they provide fantasy fodder. Men are more visual so their preferred fantasy material is generally also visual. There are a couple of problems. The industry that creates such material is largely male dominated and women are often poorly treated in terms of reimbursement. The images presented are sometimes problematic, creating a highly objectified view of women. Like most aspects of human behavior, it comes down to how the material is used. If it is an occasional outlet or a part of your sexuality, it is no problem. If it becomes your only outlet, that seems to me to be a problem.

Like booze or gambling, it's an opportunity to be ensnared by an addiction. This means that it should be avoided.

What about morgue photos, just in case you're in the mood to gross people out?

The Supreme Court initially defined obscenity as that of “utterly without socially redeeming value” to that which lacks "serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.

Miller v California (1973) sets out the "modern" test for obscenity. After years in which no Supreme Court opinion could command majority support, five members of the Court in Miller set out a several-part test for judging obscenity statutes: (1) the proscribed material must depict or describe sexual conduct in a patently offensive way, (2) the conduct must be specifically described in the law, and (3) the work must, taken as a whole, lack serious value and must appeal to a prurient interest in sex. What is patently offensive is to be determined by applying community values, but any jury decision in these cases is subject to independent constitutional review, as the Court's decision in Jenkins v Georgia makes clear.

In 1990, however, the Court--in a 6 to 3 decision--found that constitutional protection for private possession of pornography does not extend to pornography involving children.

Respectully - The industry does that because the market demands it. The depravity of mankind knows no limits. The mind doesn't know it's not actually having the sex viewed or read-about. People want to fill the holes in their hearts/spirits with something. At no time does one feel more-complete than when bonded to the opposite sex. The whole gay thing - well, that's another issue - but for the most of us normal, healthy people watching pr0n and stuff - that's the mating drive mixed with drive for intimacy.

At issue, however - the 'next best thing', where a certain type of pR0n gets boring, essentially, and folks move on to deeper (no pun intended) and darker shit.

There is nothing fundamentally wrong with pornography. The 'professional' industry however is one of the most shameful in existence.

However, with the rise of 'professional quality amature' videos because of advances in computers and cameras, as well as with the plethora of platforms to self publish on etc, I think the 'professional' industry will struggle to outlast the current generation.

The industry is People. It's consumers. WE are the problem, not 'business'.

I don't think so, a professional pornographic company could be run in such a way as to not ruin the lives of the men and women involved, and if all companies acted the same way then the industry itself would be much better, however, the companies chose not to, and this then dominos onto the rest of the industry.

This creates a vacuum which is being filled by self publishing, which is a much better industry for those involved.

Negatory - The People start and run the company and deliver what the market demands bro. "Actors" choose to work the way they work - and are paid to do the things they do based on demans of us - we - society. :-/

How many? Seven? Twelve? 200? If you want to talk specific people and their story that's another topic.
