I just found out that dmp is an Admin.

Can someone lay out the hierarchical structure here? Who is who?

I'm top dog, all the Admins and Mods answer to me. I just don't to advertise this fact. I prefer to keep a low profile and come off as just a regular member...

Board member... not some other kind of member, get your mind out of the gutter... Sheesh...

It is a criminal injustice that I am not an admin yet. That would be evil. :death:

Nobody try and get me involved. My cunning plan to effect a British takeover of this board is on a strictly need-to-know basis ....

Well, first there's Jim, as you know.

Then there's Abbey & DMP, who are Admin, which pretty much have user rights to all settings possible on the board.

Then you have the Mods - Kathi, Nukeman, Trigg and me. I sweep the floors around here and lock up at night since I'm in the last timezone.

I still break the board every now and then and Jim needs to come fix it... but that hasn't happened in a while.

Since Jim is away, I should do my Alexander Haig act and take over control of DP. Abbey would remain as an admin.
Any males seeking a staff position would have to submit an underwear shot for approval.

Except DP isn't run from a kitchen; you'd not have the slightest clue how to operate outside one. Shoes are required, too.

Your country needs to work on its food first. Most of it is pretty bland and awful. And the warm tea has to go.
Loved the cricket, though.

If you'd done any real exploration, you'd have come across the great number of curry houses we have (.. for example ..). Since when were curries 'bland' ?

And you haven't lived until you've enjoyed a Streak & Kidney pie (the 'Peters' brand is excellent ... chunks of meat within a deep pie). Or, I suggest, black pudding ! I struggle to view either as bland.

I wasn't aware that you prefer iced tea ? We have that as well ! You really should have explored more than you did ...

... especially to that 'socialist paradise' of Tottenham ....:laugh::laugh:

No self-respecting Man U. fan ever ventures to Spurs territory on a non-match day. Shouldn't you know this already?

I've had steak and kidney pie. It's quite awful. Never been a fan of curry.
My best friend Lauren, being a proper English housewife and all, makes a mean sticky toffee pudding. Along with some nice pork pies.

We went a nice restaurant more in the middle of London and my friend's husband informed the server that I was American. The server looked at me and said "Would the lady prefer ice in her tea?", followed by a roll of his eyes. I said "yes, thank you."

I am a stranger here.
The only thing I can tell - My deepest Respect to Administrator(s) and Moderators.
DO believe me. In Ukrainians forums (boards) were I once wanted to appear the Majority of you will be banned forever for your speaking a word not against, but with a glimpse of hesitation.

Well, when you consider what Ukraine has suffered in its past, I think that whatever intolerances they're prone to are highly understandable !

But, YES, this is a great forum, one not given to applying political correctness. The vast majority of British ones can't boast the same ..

What are they afraid of ? A plague of socially disadvantaged Lefties ?

Curry ... I, too, can take it or leave it. Not so steak & kidney pies !! I couldn't disagree more - they're delicious.

You were the one claiming 'blandness' for British food. Those dishes prove otherwise.

Yum !!!

Entirely understandable reaction. Americans just don't have the same appreciation for tea that us Brits do.

Even the Captain Picard character knew how to order tea properly.

'TEA, EARL GREY, HOT'.

Quite right, too. It's delicious.

Try it sometime ...

Best answer is this:

Nobody gives a shit. Nobody "on staff" gives a shit about 'who does what' - and we have eachother's backs. Nobody 'pulls rank' although Jim makes the final choices. I can't remember a time where I had to 'put on an admin hat' to 'talk to' a moderator.

We don't give a shit about that. We give a shit about eachother, though.

You know, she can annoy me more than my wife and daughters combined, but for some reason I can't help but like Gabs. One of the very few liberals on this board, she has more testicular fortitude than one would expect (especially when you consider that she, ostensibly, has no balls...) and she has never once, to my knowledge, started one of those "nobody likes me everybody hates me I'm leaving" thread.

Kudos to you, Gabs.

Now, about English food...

I was married to a Brit for a few years and though she could not cook worth a damn, her mother frequently prepared British fare. The only thing I miss? Mince pies, sausage rolls, and Yorkshire pudding with gravy...

Jim would give a shit if a nice looking, shapely female would send him lingerie shots.

Can't recall harboring a desire to commit boardicide. If I am wrong, I am sure nighttrain will correct me. He enjoys that kind of research.
I forgot the sausage rolls. They were decent. Though my daughter said they would be much better with salsa.

I don't enjoy it at all. But when someone pisses me off, I'll go the extra mile.
