I received a call about this last night, they are putting on a ride for this Marine, the ride will be staged at the Harley dealer in Marrietta GA and surrounding parking lots ( a couple of miles from I75 ) they are going to have a police escort the entire way to Chattanooga. They are planning on there being so many bikes that it will take 2 plus hours just to get from the staging area to 75 North, where they will ride to the Reserve center in Chattanooga. I know Fj is in the area and anyone else that may be close enough come on out and see how bikers support our hero's. I know on Veterans day there is a ride that leaves Athens GA and last year they had over 1000 bikes, it is a impressive sight and it really makes ya proud to see so many they actually care.

I'm not close, but I DO know how to get over Sand Mountain to Chatanooga. My grandfather retired at Ft Benning, and the family's from New Market, AL.

I think y'aqll should have done the ride down 72 at night through that haunted cemetery right before Chatanooga.

NO I sure didn't Fj, after giving it some thought, a 2 to 3 hour wait in line would of killed me, It has been so hot, just wasn't a good idea for me to wait in the line, once we are rolling I am fine but that sitting for 2 or 3 hours in the sun would of killed me.

I have been down through there at night, hell all Chattanooga feels weird at night but the area you speak of is truly weird ( to say the least ) I use to pick up cement on top of the mountain.

Don't have much of a choice these Days Kat, heck if I sit in the heat to much I go to cramping so bad it is unreal, the cramps may be anywhere in my body and once they start I can't get rid of it . They say I need to drink water, hell I drink so much water it's unreal but it doesn't help, so I just keep drinking the water and don't put myself in that predicament. :thumb:

I have that problem too, especially in legs and hands. Fruit, (especially watery ones like oranges, mangoes, peaches...) and crackers help, in addition to water.
