From The Associated Press 1 August 2015:
---------------------------------------------------------------
The largest Florida corporate donor to a super political action committee backing former Gov. Jeb Bush's presidential run is NextEra Energy Inc., the company that owns electric utility giant Florida Power & Light. Bush, a leading Republican contender, knows the company well. In 2009, more than two years after leaving office, he penned an opinion piece in the state capital's newspaper urging regulators to approve the utility's proposed rate increase for Florida customers.

...Now, NextEra is opening its own coffers to support Right to Rise, the super PAC formed to help Bush's bid for the presidency.

It looks like the rates are too high if they have a million bux to throw away on a political campaign...

Pay to play.

Every large company does it. I think if you were to examine this particular company, you'll find that they'll also be giving to whoever the Dem candidate will be.

Ive been called a socialist because ive stated my belief that human necessities should not be for profit. Water, Electric, Sewers. No human should have to provide profit for anyone for the man sustenance of life.

Electric providers and Govt have been scamming and defrauding citizens forever. Since Rick Scott became gov there hasnt been a rate increase his appointed regulators have not approved and the Electric Companies Duke being the biggest were his biggest corporate donors in his re election big besides Koch Pacs

The DUMB@$$E$ certainly bought the "....utilities will NECESSARILY skyrocket......Americans can't expect to live so comfortably while the rest of the world suffers" crap. And to think that they voted for this SOW (twice)!!!! No wonder burgers will also skyrocket with this SOW raising the elec. bills and wanting to pay low-skilles workers over $10 bucks an hour. Heck, I wish I had gotten $10 an hour on many of my jobs back in the day (and you were HIGHLY paid if you made over $15 bucks an hour). You know, that is still good money if you manage it RIGHT in my neck of the woods?

I never understood buying a semi-mansion and live in a $#!T-HOLE State when you can have the same house and better land in a RED State and still keep over double your money!!!!! Of course, libtards have a way of messing that up as well. In fact, we just had two "professors" visit our church yesterday from CA. They plan to teach at my daughter's private college!!!!!! I hope they are of the same Baptist beliefs but only time will tell.

Is giving a million bux of that profit to a political campaign driving "innovation and improved quality of life"?

Yes, I assume that the company is in a better position to determine how to maximize shareholder value than you.
