KIEV, August 5. /TASS/. A district court in Kiev has ruled to arrest in absentia the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Gen Valery Gerasimov and another ten military whom the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has placed on a list of wanted persons, Anatoly Matios, Military Prosecutor of Ukraine said on Wednesday.
"The Shevchenkovsky district court in Kiev has entertained the investigator’s request and has issued a resolution on bringing to the courtroom and putting to custody all those who were named earlier at a news briefing — that is, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and another ten Russian military," he told the 112 Ukraina television channel.
SBU investigations chief Grigory Ostafiychuk told a news briefing earlier in the day Gen Gerasimov and the aforementioned military stayed on the territory of Ukraine illegally in August 2014 during combat operations in the areas of Ilovaysk, a town in the war-torn east Donbas.
In the meantime, the Russian Defense Ministry’s spokesman Igor Konashenkov said the ministry officials were unaware of the SBU initiatives on arresting to the top Russian military.
The statements like the ones made by Ostafiychuk only confirm the inadequacy of the people at the helm of that organization, he said.

The Russian Defense Ministry is prepared "to organize a worthy meet-and-greet, a conversation from the bottom of its heart and a brisk but indelible farewell ceremony to the SBU operatives," Konashenkov said.
The Russian government has said on innumerable occasions there had never been any Russian military presence in Donbas.
"There are no Russian armed units there and our counterparts in Ukraine, in Europe and in Washington confirm this all the time," the Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said recently.
For those who do not know - SBU is the Ukrainian Security Service.

Ah, have you finally found something 'good' to say about Ukraine ?
NO ? Now, there's a shocker ...
So tell me, Balu. What's wrong with what Ukraine has done ? Seems to me that those Russian personnel are only getting what their actions have earned them.

Good... they violated the sovereign borders of Ukraine and helped initiate and foment rebellion in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine as well as helped coordinate Military operations.
They are criminals.... now they will answer to their crimes and the Shoot down of the Malaysian Airliner.
Russia has a lot of explaining to do......

OK! Russia will send our Ambassador to West-Point to present the diplomas to the graduates. And our FSB will occupy a floor at Langley. Can you imagine the reaction of Americans?
As to Ukrainians, I DO NOT respect both cheap whores and elite prostitutes. And Ukrainians are too far from the level of the elite ones. http://www.kolobok.us/smiles/standart/dirol.gif
I think that only "democratic bombardment" of Kiev with Russian cruising missiles with a warheads with depleted uranium and phosphorus may cause the positive result. Once something like this was used and you think it was effective.

I'd imagine that it wouldn't be a million miles from the reaction of Ukrainians, on finding that Russian invaders encroached on their territory ? That's to say, THEY have a right to decide who is on THEIR soil, and THEIR property ??

As flattering as ever, I see.
I struggle not to see this as completely overbearing, gratuitously insulting, and downright racist .. and YES, I'm choosing my words carefully !!

I cannot mince my words, in the face of such comments. Simply ... Disgusting.
I take it that it's your view that Ukraine hasn't suffered ENOUGH from all of the Russian aggression it's had to take in its history ???

First DO learn the HISTORY and then you'll find out that there is NO such nationality as Ukrainians. Etymologically "ukrainian" always meant the name of the habitants of Periphery, in Russian - Okraina.
And now see the map. The rest is conjectures and fantasies of your propaganda, promoting your blinders.
As to me - let them pay their debts, return the territories and piss anywhere they want to live on THEIR OWN. If the West is ready to sustain 40 million Ukrainians at your account, this is none of our business. Good Luck!

http://chudinov.ru/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/podarki1.jpgI believe that all you're reflecting in this is old-style Soviet empire-building, of the kind that was once responsible for foisting MASS STARVATION on the Ukrainian people.
But apparently, Balu, you want to see yet MORE harm come to those people ?
THIS, Balu, is what you're happy to ADD to !!
http://www.historyplace.com/worldhistory/genocide/stalin.htm
This is just an excerpt ..
Joseph Stalin, leader of the Soviet Union, set in motion events designed to cause a famine in the Ukraine to destroy the people there seeking independence from his rule. As a result, an estimated 7,000,000 persons perished in this farming area, known as the breadbasket of Europe, with the people deprived of the food they had grown with their own hands.
The Ukrainian independence movement actually predated the Stalin era. Ukraine, which measures about the size of France, had been under the domination of the Imperial Czars of Russia for 200 years. With the collapse of the Czarist rule in March 1917, it seemed the long-awaited opportunity for independence had finally arrived. Optimistic Ukrainians declared their country to be an independent People's Republic and re-established the ancient capital city of Kiev as the seat of government.
However, their new-found freedom was short-lived. By the end of 1917, Vladimir Lenin, the first leader of the Soviet Union, sought to reclaim all of the areas formerly controlled by the Czars, especially the fertile Ukraine. As a result, four years of chaos and conflict followed in which Ukrainian national troops fought against Lenin's Red Army, and also against Russia's White Army (troops still loyal to the Czar) as well as other invading forces including the Germans and Poles.
By 1921, the battles ended with a Soviet victory while the western part of the Ukraine was divided-up among Poland, Romania, and Czechoslovakia. The Soviets immediately began shipping out huge amounts of grain to feed the hungry people of Moscow and other big Russian cities. Coincidentally, a drought occurred in the Ukraine, resulting in widespread starvation and a surge of popular resentment against Lenin and the Soviets.
To lessen the deepening resentment, Lenin relaxed his grip on the country, stopped taking out so much grain, and even encouraged a free-market exchange of goods. This breath of fresh air renewed the people's interest in independence and resulted in a national revival movement celebrating their unique folk customs, language, poetry, music, arts, and Ukrainian orthodox religion.
But when Lenin died in 1924, he was succeeded by Joseph Stalin, one of the most ruthless humans ever to hold power. To Stalin, the burgeoning national revival movement and continuing loss of Soviet influence in the Ukraine was completely unacceptable. To crush the people's free spirit, he began to employ the same methods he had successfully used within the Soviet Union. Thus, beginning in 1929, over 5,000 Ukrainian scholars, scientists, cultural and religious leaders were arrested after being falsely accused of plotting an armed revolt. Those arrested were either shot without a trial or deported to prison camps in remote areas of Russia.
Stalin also imposed the Soviet system of land management known as collectivization. This resulted in the seizure of all privately owned farmlands and livestock, in a country where 80 percent of the people were traditional village farmers. Among those farmers, were a class of people called Kulaks by the Communists. They were formerly wealthy farmers that had owned 24 or more acres, or had employed farm workers. Stalin believed any future insurrection would be led by the Kulaks, thus he proclaimed a policy aimed at "liquidating the Kulaks as a class."
Declared "enemies of the people," the Kulaks were left homeless and without a single possession as everything was taken from them, even their pots and pans. It was also forbidden by law for anyone to aid dispossessed Kulak families. Some researchers estimate that ten million persons were thrown out of their homes, put on railroad box cars and deported to "special settlements" in the wilderness of Siberia during this era, with up to a third of them perishing amid the frigid living conditions. Men and older boys, along with childless women and unmarried girls, also became slave-workers in Soviet-run mines and big industrial projects.'
Do I understand that seven million deaths is not ENOUGH for you ??

Now, 75 years after one of the great forgotten crimes of modern times, Stalin's man-made famine of 1932/3, the former Soviet republic of Ukraine is asking the world to classify it as a genocide.
The Ukrainians call it the Holodomor - the Hunger.
Millions starved as Soviet troops and secret policemen raided their villages, stole the harvest and all the food in villagers' homes. They dropped dead in the streets, lay dying and rotting in their houses, and some women became so desperate for food that they ate their own children.
If they managed to fend off starvation, they were deported and shot in their hundreds of thousands.
So terrible was the famine that Igor Yukhnovsky, director of the Institute of National Memory, the Ukrainian institution researching the Holodomor, believes as many as nine million may have died.
For decades the disaster remained a state secret, denied by Stalin and his Soviet government and concealed from the outside world with the help of the 'useful idiots' - as Lenin called Soviet sympathisers in the West.
Russia is furious that Ukraine has raised the issue of the famine: the swaggering 21st-century state of Prime Minister Putin and President Medvedev see this as nationalist chicanery designed to promote Ukraine, which may soon join Nato and the EU.
They see it as an anti-Russian manoeuvre more to do with modern politics than history. And they refuse to recognise this old crime as a genocide.
They argue that because the famine not only killed Ukrainians but huge numbers of Russians, Cossacks, Kazakhs and many others as well, it can't be termed genocide - defined as the deliberate killing of large numbers of a particular ethnic group.
It may be a strange defence, but it is historically correct.
So what is the truth about the Holodomor? And why is Ukraine provoking Russia's wrath by demanding public recognition now?
The Ukraine was the bread basket of Russia, but the Great Famine of 1932/3 was not just aimed at the Ukrainians as a nation - it was a deliberate policy aimed at the entire Soviet peasant population - Russian, Ukrainian and Kazakh - especially better-off, small-time farmers.
It was a class war designed to 'break the back of the peasantry', a war of the cities against the countryside and, unlike the Holocaust, it was not designed to eradicate an ethnic people, but to shatter their independent spirit.
So while it may not be a formal case of genocide, it does, indeed, rank as one of the most terrible crimes of the 20th century.
In the face of ALL THIS, all you have to offer Ukraine is insults, and MORE threats of killing ??
Balu, you are one hell of a piece of work. AS I SAID BEFORE ... DISGUSTING.

The Ukrainians are killing Ukrainians. They are the citizens of THEIR OWN country since 1991. This is THEIR Civil War, started by YOU in 2014. This is with YOUR help, for YOUR money and with YOUR DIRECT assistance the legitimate President of Ukraine was dismissed as a result of armed coup, effected by prepared by you hit-men just a couple of days after signing the Agreement by Yanuckovich. And these are YOU who put YOUR puppets at the leadership of Ukraine. And these are YOU who planned and arranged a crash of Malaysian Boeing. I can tell it for sure. These are only you who could be the beneficiaries of this crash. According to YOUR plan this jet changed the routine route, decreased Flight Level and was directed by Kiev operator to the place of crash.
These are YOU who DID NOT take ALL the fragments of a jet and are keeping silent for MORE than a year about the results of investigation.
These are Americans who DID NOT provide and publish the satellite shots of the place of crash, though their satellite was just above the place of crash in the moment of crash. These are Ukrainians who did not provide the talks of THEIR operator who was controlling the plane and she was not even interrogated. And these are you who immediately accused Donetsk militiamen and Russia of shooting down this plane and, a year passed and NO OBJECTIVE evidence and prove of you initial propaganda fuss and hysteria available.
You put yourself in a very complicated situation - you don't know how many Jokers WE have.
So look over the situation from this angle and try to estimate how dirty and disgusting YOU are looking in a situation with Ukraine. Yugoslavia, Libya, Iraq and Georgia is not enough for you? You want more?

What an almighty load of rubbish. We've started no war in Ukraine. Ukraine dares to want to remain free of Russia. It therefore dares to fight those who'd drag it back to the Russian sphere of influence.
For what it's worth, some of the time I'm not on here, I'm conversing in emails. I've been in contact with three Ukrainians in recent weeks. All are united in their hatred of Russia, and what Russia has done to Ukraine. They want to be rid of you, and to be fully free.
Your claim about the Malaysian Boeing is disgusting. We're all in no doubt that it was shot down by pro-Russian rebels. Free yourself from your Communist propaganda, if you can ... except, of course, that you've no interest in that. All Russian propaganda is fine by you. Indeed, aren't you here to spread it, on this board ?
There's nothing disgusting about wanting, and fighting for, freedom. Such a pity you're incapable of grasping that, or of recognising that Ukraine has that right.
Perhaps seven million dead wasn't enough ?

The Russians do not take kindly to dissent by their conquests. The Czechs found this out in 1968.
Poor Putin. He has dreams of being Stalin, but isn't even smart enough to be Khrushchev.

That's certainly my understanding. Also that the current Administration, fighting to remain fully and viably independent, is contrived by Western interference.
Correct me if that's wrong, Balu.

It seems that we understand the term sovereignty in different ways.
